Hawaiian Bros Island Grill — Restaurant in Kyle

I had placed an online order for pick up on 8.9.24 around 1pm to the Kyle location through the Uber eats app due to a buy 1 get 2 entrees special they were having. I had just gotten surgery so i went through the drive through to to grab my food. Not sure if the cashier (white woman) just thought I was an uber eats driver who didn't want to get out of the car when in reality it was MY food I was picking up. This Caucasian woman was screaming at me to come inside and grab it myself. I communicated I wasnt able to exit my vehicle and that I've done this at the other locations and it was always fine and she said they would never grab it for me in the future and bring it to the window but then proceeded to tell me to circle around the drive through again angrily. I circled around to give her time and pulled up to the same window again and she started yelling at me how its my responsibility to not be in the drive through for more than 30 seconds otherwise the employees get in trouble and what to do correctly next time in a condescending voice. Great customer service. For someone who wants to get me out of the drive through asap why would you send me to do another circle around the restaurant?? Not sure why she felt the need emphasize how much I was inconveniencing her which was comedic because it was NOT busy at all. Then when i was handed my food angrily by another employee and to which they also asked me to confirm my meal name, and proof of purchase 5 more times I knew they were loving this. So I made sure to check my food items in the driveway very VERY slowly to make sure 1. They didn't spit in my food and 2. didn't purposely forget anything. Island bros was nice and clean! We were greeted with a friendly worker who helped explain the ordering system. (It's done on a tablet, self serve tablet). The menu is super easy to understand and place orders with. Prices of the meals were also very reasonable. Portions were descent size as well. Of course not Hawaiian sized portions, but still pretty good. The flavors were pretty yummy. Probably as close as you can get to Hawaiian style (aside from L&L, when it comes to chain style resturaunts) I'd say the only thing that seemed a little different and slightly off was the Mac salad. The noodles were too firm and overly loaded with mayo, not too much flavor either, but if you add their Teriyaki sauce to it, it taste really good! (My personal opinion). Over all really great! Great for families too! Being born and from Hawaii, this place was a great place to enjoy and reminisce on the good old days and food we had growing up! Give them a try! TLDR Dont get the add meat option not worth it, eat inside for a better experience. My biggest issue is consistency here the food is usually very good and the service is mostly good I've had one experience that left a sour taste with service but I understand usually use the app to place my order ahead of time to pick for work they are really fast on getting food out which is great when I'm running late and need something fast the very first time I visited the store I sat inside the building which is beautiful I love the atmosphere and thier soda fountain has most of my favorite sodas the issues come from pick up perhaps due to the fast production time quality is sacrificed the meat quality seems to be a bit more skimpy it feels like most of the time you'll get the tiny left over shreds I've started ordering the add meat option to help with the issue but then the add meat option ends up being only the bits 😅 perhaps food cost may be too high.
