We were in San Marcos and looked up a Mexican Restaurant nearby and came across this one in Kyle.(Place was packed, so we expected great food, but we left unsatisfied & still hungry.) Here it goes...Chips were obviously straight out of a bag and Salsa out of a bottle or a package---tasted like ketchup. (Don't be fooled by those other reviews- they must have never eaten really good chips and salas like in South Texas.) The Orchata tasted funny, so we sent it back & chose to drink water instead. We inquired about how it was made there (what was in it). Turns out it comes out of a package and they weren't really sure what the ingredients were. 😯 The Green Chicken enchiladas had bland boiled chicken inside with no seasoning at all. Spinach enchiladas were similar, spinach inside with no cheese and an unrecognizable slime-looking green runny sauce. Carne Guisada was ok but the taco was tiny for $3. The Chicken fried steak was one of those cheap frozen kind and I wouldn't recommend it. Fideo and picadillo were okay. Cheese enchiladas were edible, bland and regrettable, but not vomit-inducing. Shrimp fajita plate was small with only three shrimps and not worth the price. Rice is on the level of taco bell, refried beans are okay, charro beans were a little cold, but otherwise okay. We were also a forgotten table as we were seated and never saw our original waitress, but a different waitress covered us. The wait was significant and the service was below average, but the employees were at least friendly. We sat at the tables outside and I got the feeling they pay more attention to the guests seated inside just due to proximity. Prices are pretty high for small servings and little flavor. If you can keep driving to San Antonio, that would be your best bet...or even better, if you can keep driving to Corpus Christi you're in for some damn good Mexican food. If you are heading North of Kyle, it's not gonna get any better, so head to a non-Mexican restaurant. 🤷🏽‍♀️✌

I used to enjoy this place, I sent my brother in law to place an order to go, he arrived at 1:12 he than waited until 2:10 to get his order. Apparently the server placed his order on the table to the right of the register and forgot to inform him that the food was ready. He finally got tired of waiting and went up to ask where his food was they didn’t notify him that it was our order on the counter and it sat there for more than 40 mins. Then proceeded to give him the order that was sitting there for that amount of time, my brother in law told them he would not take the food unless it was remade. They went into the back came back 10 mins later and only offered a drink for the Inconvenience. Then I called when he got home with the food because i tried to eat my enchilada but we’re cold, missing a side and the order of fries I ordered for my son were dry and cold. Which the Manager Oscar only said he could give me a refund if I brought the food back which is an inconvenience to me again if I’m not the one who made the mistake to begin with, nor did I feel like ever seeing this place again. I wasted $38.94 at this restaurant and it was the worst way to start my Off my Sunday. Never again!

Despite that they didn't know what a Steven's Special was or even heard of it, our server Erica made sure we were able to order something similar while suggesting an alternative. The Queso was actually better than we expected for a Chile Con Queso combination. It wasn't as spicy as most. As you seen in the submitted picture post of the supreme nachos, you better bring an appetite or you'll have leftovers. I also suggest the Fiesta Plate (all beef or cheese) as you get a small variety of favorites as a meal combination. You also better arrive early to avoid the lunch rush and breakfast is served all day. Outside of the one server making sure our salsa bowl didn't remain empty to our wonderful server Erica making sure our needs were met and no one was dissatisfied or thirsty, we enjoyed our 1st visit here with the possibility of a return.

If I could leave zero stars I would. I called this restaurant at 6:30PM last night and placed an order. When I asked to give my credit card info since it was curbside pickup, the server said she was on the back porch and wasn’t able to take my cc info. She said it would be 20-30 minutes. So I arrived at about 7:10 to pick up food. I went in to pay with credit card. A young girl met me at the door and nastily asked what I wanted. I told her I needed to pay for the order. She said ”give me your card and get back in your car”. I was taken aback by the curt attitude but figured she was just having a bad day. About 10 mins later no ticket and no food. I saw a manager (lady with green shirt and blond hair coming out to talk to someone else with a complaint) and asked her to check on my order. About 10 mins later a girl came out with my ticket but no food. I told her I was getting ready to leave. She said oh no don’t do that, they are bagging your food right now. Ten minutes later nothing. I called and was told it would be right out. At 7:50 I called and spoke to the “manager “ who, by the way, never came out to check on me again and told her to cancel my order and refund money. She said ok like it was no big deal that they just wasted an hour of my time. I asked her to have the GM, Oscar, call me today but of course that didn’t happen. So I just called but magically Oscar had left for the day according to Danielle. I asked Danielle to have him call me tomorrow and she said she would. But of course she never asked for my number so my guess is they weren’t even going to pass that message on. All I got was excuses from everyone except the truth. They did give me an iced tea and a handful of chips in a baggie as if that was supposed to take care of the matter. My experience has been less than stellar. We give this restaurant a lot of business but will no longer do so. If this is as little as they care about their patrons, they don’t deserve the business. They clearly don’t want it. Don’t waste your money or time here. They really could care less about you. And my money still has not been refunded. Oscar, return our funds and teach your staff better. The treatment I received was disgraceful. You may not remember that we had another awful experience here and you asked us to give you another chance and to remove our negative review. We did that but that won’t...

Very disappointed with my recent experience. I have been a loyal customer since this location opened - at one time, many years ago, I used to know the owner and have always been treated very well by the GM, Oscar, in years past.

I called to order a To-Go order and was kept on hold long enough that I was able to drive from my home all the way to the restaurant - told the girl with the over long nails - typically a no-no in the sanitation-centric restaurant environment - that I was there and would come in to order. Fair enough - they are busy. No problem. After placing my order for a bowl of soup and two chalupas, I was presented a bill of $32.00! Mind you, Kyle is Mexican restaurant heavy and with all the new high quality competition we’ve acquired, I have many choices.

I called the shift manager, Christina, over and told her my hold experience and the fact that it seemed very excessive to charge $32.00 for a bowl of soup and two chalupas! In light of the fact that because it took so long to be able to order, that I’d now have to wait and that I really didn’t feel $4.50 for chips and salsa was fair and that for customer good will they could surely afford an order of chips and salsa while I waited and enjoyed a Diet Coke that I was also charged several dollars for!

It was all just way too much and the fact that the shift manager was so unbending and actually decided to check the phone and inform me that there had been no phone call because she had looked !

Sad to say, this very long term customer is a customer no longer. As they say, voting with my dollar - who teaches these people their customer...
