I went to Starbucks today, which we don’t get to do very often these days because, let’s face it, everything is so expensive. I ordered my usual Venti quad iced white mocha with no whip and a Venti strawberry Frappuccino for my daughter. We checked out, got my drink first, and then my daughter’s. As I handed her drink to her, I noticed it looked more like a vanilla bean Frappuccino. It had a slight hint of pink or red, but calling it red was a stretch. I didn’t want to make a fuss, so I stayed quiet.
However, my daughter then pointed out, "Mom, I think they made my drink wrong." I told her I had the same thought, so I turned to the barista and asked, "Doesn’t this drink usually have strawberry stuff in it that you can see? She replied that the strawberries are blended into the drink and aren’t usually visible. I mentioned that we’ve been ordering this drink for years and it normally looks different. The barista gave me a look that made me feel dumb, so I just left with our slightly pink vanilla bean frap.
When we got home, I regretted not taking a picture of the drink. I looked up images of a strawberry Frappuccino online and confirmed that it usually does have visible strawberry stuff. I was frustrated because Starbucks would have normally remade the drink without a problem, but this young barista insisted the drink was made correctly and charged me $7 for it.
I know I should probably let it go, but it bothers me that the barista insisted the drink was always made that way when it...
Read morePosting from my husband's profile: I went back and forth on posting this because, as a previous Starbucks employee, I know the craziness that comes with peak busy hours BUT - I frequent this Starbucks multiple times a week, and I order the exact same drink every time. Every single time I order my drink it's different when it lands in my hands. Some days - perfect! Chef's kiss!! Other days I'm handed a what seems like a cup of milk and I end up tossing it. Again, I 100% get the craziness, but I'd ask that you have your employees review their recipe cards, take a minute to take a breath during rush hours, and really take pride in the drinks they're making for the guests. I know Starbucks really prides themselves on making quality beverages for their customers and they're always happy to remake, but I never want to burden the employees with a remake when they are already frazzled and rushing around to make sure customers aren't waiting outrageous times.
Maybe another espresso station would help? Something to consider since your store is in a prime location and has heavy traffic.
Please know I am simply frustrated at the inconsistency and it's nothing personal. Iced Shaken espressos aren't the MOST common thing out there so maybe some baristas just don't know what it is they're making.
I'll be back 100% - I'm just hoping to see more consistency so my $ feels well...
Read moreStarbucks always gets rushed, staff needs to slow down and talk to each other and gain some organization this was a huge pine of cars and that's not anything new so they shouldn't be flustered. As someone who is certified in process improvements for companies, I can see alot of flaws. Staff is placing items where ever they want and creating a headache for there fellow staff members and not thinking about how to make customers happy by providing a service that is better AND faster. They are only thinking about the faster aspect. There was 20 drinks with food on the service counter waiting for customers to take them and everyone was touching them (maybe district manager should pay a visit) Drinks were made incorrectly and when this was brought up to the staff, they just handed the customer a stick instead of offering to fix it. Staff was laughing at customer names as well. Horrible customer service and forgetting why Starbucks became successful in the first place. Just talk to each other and you wouldn't have problems, it was complete...
