This is the first time we ordered from Ilario's and it will definitely be our last. Yesterday we called in an order (see picture for times) I spoke to a lady and after being given the pizza sizes of 12" 15" or 20" I ordered a 15" supreme pizza, 15" double pepperoni, a chicken fettuccine Alfredo, and an order of cheese sticks. She quoted me $55 with change and said it would be 20-30 min. We ran some quick errands to give the restaurant ample time, in fact we gave them plenty of time as we arrived at 6:14pm. My husband went in and I stayed in the vehicle with our infant. After waiting for what seemed an eternity with an irritated crying infant, my husband came out at 6:35pm. Mind you, while I was waiting, I saw an older gentleman in a white vehicle arrive and leave with 2 boxes of pizzas in less than 5 minutes. When my husband got in the car at 6:35pm, I asked him what happened and if he got a refund. He said he didn't know and that he had not. So I went in and asked to speak with a manager for such an inconvenient lack of customer service and time management. I was assisted by Chris, who claimed to be the manager on duty. I told him about our situation and said I wanted a full refund for waiting 1 hour and 5 minutes for our order. He apologized and issued a refund. When I saw the total, I thought they gave us partial credit for waiting. I asked my husband if the total looked right to him and he said no, that he paid $66 with change, so I went back to speak with Chris again. I told him that we didn't get a full refund, he tried to gaslight me in several ways. I told him that we gave them well over enough time for our called ahead order and I didn't understand why we waited an additional 20 minutes at the restaurant. First, he said that when we order ahead of time they ask us for our phone number and send us text messages about our order. I summarized my interaction with the lady and told him that she never asked me for a phone number and he only responded about not having a 15" pizza, only 12" 16" and 20". I told him that it didn't matter if we gave a phone number or not because we gave them PLENTY of time anyway. Then I told him how I saw the guy in the white vehicle come and go in less than 5 minutes, and he said "well he probably ordered ahead of time" and I flabbergasted, responded "didn't we order ahead of time?" He didn't say anything so I asked what was the difference? Why did we wait 20 minutes and he came and went in 5? He then said, "Well, you didn't see him order." I told him that it didn't matter if I saw him order, because we both ordered ahead of time, and we waited 20 additional minutes and the other customer came and left in 5, so what was the difference? He admittedly said there was no difference. So I asked again for a full refund now for the time and the obvious gaslighting and he said he couldn't do that. When I asked why, he said that he was trying to "run a business" all while holding a smirk. I left and told him I would be writing this review. Chris should be demoted and used as an example of how not to run a business as he clearly is running it straight into the ground. I think he meant he was trying to "ruin" a business. I ran a very successful UPS store in Houston at a very prestigious location and now I'm a Career Case Manager and all I can say is that my young employees had far more professionalism, accountability, respectfulness, and composure towards more rude, entitled, and irate customers than this so called manager. After speaking with my husband who is a very keen observer, he told me that when he went in they were going to hand him the bag of what he assumes was the pasta and cheese sticks and that a lady asked the staff about the pizzas. After seeing some chatter between them, the lady told him there was going to be a wait on the pizzas. He said that when he arrived he saw 4 boxes on a top rack and the same guy I saw walk in and get handed 2 out of the 4 boxes. After a while he saw them get the two remaining pizza boxes and the bag. Basically waiting for nothing but...
Read moreI’m currently moving from Austin to Kyle. So while taking my stuff to storage in Kyle, my kids and I are trying to local cuisine. I was afraid at first because there are no major Italian chains nearby, but I decided to go ahead and try this little place. We ordered a basket of bread, and although the bread was very good I would suggest the restaurant consider some sort of dip or spread for it in the future. They brought it out with little pads of butter that were not fully defrosted. That would be the only thing that comes close to criticizing this place. More of a suggestion. Next came out toasted ravioli. Unlike other places, they have a cheese ravioli option that my daughter was excited about. It was SO GOOD! Weirdly they served it with both marinara and a house made ranch. I gave the ranch a go and it was surprisingly good! Loved it with the marinara as well. My daughter and I got Caesar salads, which were also very good. My kids are VERY PICKY and I have had little success with small Italian places in the past. Not here! My son got the pepperoni pizza. I decided to get the large 20”. It was huge!! The waiter actually apologized because they had made it too big. He said it was more about 23”. I said “as long as you’re not charging me for the extra three inches”! Amazing cheese pull! Plenty of pepperoni on there! My son loved it! My daughter got the cheese ravioli and thankfully they give the option of doing Alfredo sauce without charging extra, unlike some other places I know. Their sauce was so good and the only complaint my daughter had was that the cheese kept trying to escape her ravioli! I ordered the pecan crusted chicken. It comes with pasta that has a cream sauce with jalapeños in it. It is not a strong jalapeno flavor, just enough to zest it up and it was AMAZING! The chicken was amazing too!! I had felt like something with shrimp in it, so I ordered it with some shrimp as well. The waiter suggested the blackened shrimp. GO WITH THAT SUGGESTION!! Plump shrimp seasoned to perfection!! I was hopeful at that point that dessert would be amazing too. Few places have cannoli anymore and I LOVE cannoli! Theirs is one of the best I’ve ever had!! Yes, the place is pricey, but the quality and quantity of food makes it worth while! I look forward to completing my move to Kyle next month and making this place a regular stop.
Meaning no insult to the restaurant, but consider a nice dip or spread for your delicious breads!! A seasoned olive...

The food wasn’t amazing. We had the bread basket appetizer and were very disappointed when we tasted the amazing looking bread only to see that it was cold and kind of bland in flavor. Also, the butter was cold and hard, so it was hard to spread it on the bread. Ordering was inconvenient since the menu doesn’t have pictures or descriptions for any of the items. I had to quickly google a bunch of different items to see how they looked and picked the Chicken Florentine Pasta based on the pictures i found. The portion was bigger than I expected (there were no portion sizes listed in the menu either), and, while it was mostly pretty good, it had these huge, noodle-like chunks of onions that really messed up the whole thing. I guess it comes down to preference, but i cringed every time I thought i would be biting a creamy, soft pasta noodle and i felt an onion crack in my mouth. I was able to handle it for the first couple of times, but was pretty sick of it by the end of my meal. It’s just too much onion. If there were ingredients listed in the menu, at least i would have been aware of what I was getting into when I ordered the pasta. Other than that, the chicken was tasty, the sauce was nice and creamy, and it was alright overall. The people i was eating with ordered Farfalle alla Carbonara and Lasagna, and they seemed to enjoy it.
The service was nice. We got attended by a tall, dark skinned guy with short hair, and he periodically checked up on us to see if we were doing good or needed anything. You could tell he was trying, and he was pretty helpful.
The place itself was nice, but not mind blowing. The music was nice and quiet and everything was pretty clean, but it's hard to get immersed in the environment when half of the walls are curtains and windows that make it feel like an office building. But again, it was nice. Probably as good as it gets for a restaurant that’s not a particularly fancy, sit-down restaurant.
Overall, not a bad experience. Just not a very remarkable one. Man, those onions were...
