TeaLand Boba Cafe — Restaurant in Lacey

UPDATED I didn't text anyone even though they said I could in their response, but I got my Saturday milk tea today 6/21 anyways since they said they would figure out what was happening, and it was back to delicious so now I wish I could give more than 5 stars because they handled that issue so fast, and they really do have the best milk tea! I have gone elsewhere just for convenience, or while out of town and always regret it. No one else can compare.

(old review) Something happened. When they switched from Ding Tea to Tealand thing were still great. I was relieved since it's always been the best place to get bubble tea. But the last two times I've gotten a milk tea here something had changed. It is very thick and slimy feeling in my mouth. It feels like I'm drinking a flavored coffee creamer. This was 6/7 and again today on 6/14 both one of my three regular orders that I get almost every Saturday. Keeping 3 stars as a more neutral rating and hoping to just be giving feedback assuming this is a mistake so whatever yucky change that has recently occurred can be sussed out and fixed. Happy to change my review when things are less slimy! Hoping for a response too to let me know if this change was intentional because I don't want to spend more money on...

Banana matcha was delicious, matcha tasted high quality and wasn’t bitter. There wasn’t an artificial banana taste and the two flavors blended well together. Kind of tasted like the baby apple bananas. Also no up charge for alternative milk! If you don’t like sweet matcha, I highly recommend adjusting sweetness level. 50% sweetness was perfect personally.

Also came back to try the wintermelon milk tea with cheese crema. Boba texture wasn’t too chewy and the cheese crema complimented the drink. I also recommend adjusting sweetness level here if you like less sweet things. I found 50% to be a little sweeter than what I go for.

The cleanliness was quite concerning. I decided to try this place instead of my usual spot since I was nearby, but it turned out to be a bad idea. The three staff members seemed overwhelmed with the orders and mixing drinks. They appeared unsure about the recipes, but what really bothered me was watching them touch their faces, scratch their noses, play with their hair, and then handle the cups and make drinks. That completely ruined my craving for boba. I won't be...
