Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Lafayette

This was my first time ever eating here. It was kind of like going to Subway, but with Mexican food. The food is fresh and all the ingredients are laid out for you to choose from. It's a good, systematic layout. There were more ingredients than food item choices, but that's ok. I got the hard tacos, and you can really load them up, be careful not to overload them or you'll have to eat them with a fork lol. Some ingredients cost extra, but only a few cents, no big deal, I don't mind paying extra if the quality is there. The food was delicious, I highly recommend the barbacoa on the tacos and their guacamole is good as well, then whatever other toppings you choose. I understand why my daughter frequents this place, I will be back as well. It isn't cheap to eat here, but affordable, remember, you're paying for a better quality food, so it's worth it. Since this was my first time here, and I've only tried one dish, I can't in all fairness give it 5 stars until I've had a chance to return and compare my experience, if it's as good as before, then I will change my score, either way I would encourage you to...

I went in to order a burrito, and everything went well until a woman walked in with a dog in her bag. The cashier found something wrong with it, but the woman who made my food asked if she could "rub the doggie." She can wrap the mess out of a burrito, but the fact that she did not see anything wrong with a dog in a food establishment made me question how clean she was and regret even choosing chipotle. I should have gone with my first thought and chose the Mexican restaurant next door.

Anyway, the woman walked in, and headed toward the kitchen. I would have definitely said something had she walked past the register and into the kitchen, but she stopped, so all she got was stares from me and the cashier. I could tell the cashier didn't want to be rude. She asked who the lady was there for, and she mentioned someone in the kitchen. I got out of there quickly, but i feel like I should have stuck around to see if the guy in the kitchen was ok with that mess, so I would know to not return again. I will probably be going to another chipotle before I choose...

I'd say I really like their food. I do. I'm just not very fond of the seating arrangements, seems a little cramped when a lot of people are there. I won't talk about what I found the first time we visited the place by the high chairs. I contacted Chipotle directly about that. The next time we visited it was corrected. This last time I ordered I went through the app to place and pick up. Kind of convenient. I guess I should have gone through my whole bag before I left. I ordered two kids meals, I first noticed that only one chips and one apple juice. I got that corrected. When I got home I found the kids meals didn't have their meat. How can they have their pudding if they don't eat their meat? I called. I was told they would write our names down and next time we come in they'll give it to us for free.
