Sushi Masa Lafayette — Restaurant in Lafayette

I have eaten here 3 times. The food never disappoints! I love the "All you can eat option" because it allows me to try new and different things I may not have ever tried at any other restaurant. It is good to note that the lunch "all you can eat" option is about $9 cheaper but it does not come with any alcoholic beverage and not all of the options available for the dinner "all you can eat are available at lunch. I originally gave this restaurant a 5 star rating, but after my last experience a couple of days ago I have downgraded it to a 4 star. The food was amazing as always, but the service initially fell short. We arrived right before they opened. When they did open there were about 5 tables that entered ahead of us and a few tables that entered after us. We watched as tables around us got drinks and eventually their food. We still had not even been greeted by a server. After about 15 minutes I went to the hostess stand and let them know we had never been greeted. A few minutes later someone asked if we had been helped and we said no and wanted to speak to a manager. They sent a server who took our drink and appetizer order. We received our appetizers before our drinks. Eventually the manager came. He said he was going to find out what happened and come back to us. He never returned to our table which is the most upsetting part. I used to work in the restaurant industry and know firsthand that mistakes happen. And the server did a great job once he got our table. But the manager's lack of follow through and follow up is...

Update: Dined here again lastnight and unfortunatley had this same waiter. Charged our card twice because he rung up the wrong ticket instead of just charging an extra sushi roll for us to take home to even out the ticket which was only a $7 difference. Didnt even let us know what he did until after he charged our card twice. Service wasnt great. Had to keep waiting for him to come back. He never cleared off our table, thankfully the guys who brought out the sushi realized how cramped our table was and so cleared our table. Suprised after my last review he still employed bc Im sure many people complained. Also, cobwebs hanging from ceiling. Absolutley disgusting to have dangling over booth, tables and food.

Dined here tonight, had the AYCE menu. I come here often, 2 of the times I unfortunatley had the same server whose customer service isnt great. Inappropriate comments were made, a bit all over the place andtowards the end of our dinner he asked if we were done ordering, we felt rushed so told him yes. He says ok because they needed our 1 menu we had. We were a party of 5, and he took the other menus at the beginning of our dinner because he said they "needed" those. So we all were ordering off of one menu which made our dinner to be a bit annoying. We decided to order alot at a time so that way we werent waiting for him to come back to take another order. First time at Sushi Masa and it was awful. A friend, her daughter and I went in for dinner. We were seated quickly and our server, who was great, got our drink orders in quickly. (2 waters and a sprite) That is where it went down hill. We got to listen to the table behind us and in front of us fuss at the manager for issues. It was super loud and we could barely hear each other across the table. It took 40 minutes to get our drinks. We each got the all you can eat, which was a waste. Each time we ordered something it took more than 30 minutes to come out or wouldn't come out at all. By the time we got our soups, they were cold. Anything hibachi we got was cold. Had to send back sushi once because they missed the tuna, in a spicy tuna roll. Our server was great and kept going check to see what the issue was in the kitchen. Took 4 hours and we didn't even get close to what we ordered nor did we even order enough to have the cost come out to the price of the all you can eat if we paid a la carte. My friend only got 1 of the hibachi items out of 6 she ordered and 1 roll of sushi out of 3 she ordered. Her daughter only the got the noodles she ordered. I only got a cold soup and 1 sushi roll made right. I order hibachi and other rolls and desserts which I didn't get.
