We came to Disney Springs with absolutely no plan for dining this evening, just winging it and it apparently worked. We had no reservations anywhere, but the crowds were light, so we decided to walk and see what was available. As we passed option after option, we finally decided to give Raglan Road a shot. We've passed by several times during peak season when the spot is crowded and difficult to get in.
This time, we walked our party of 7 right in and actually got a table near the stage just in time for the show to start. Reviewing this restaurant is not just about the food, it's also about the environment. This is an Irish pub type of setting, so in addition to the multiple alcoholic beverage choices, there's traditional food like Fish and Chips and the live entertainment, which this evening consisted of a trio of Irish Dancers and two musicians who alternated taking the stage. All of them engaged the entire audience, which is a lot of fun, but does make it difficult to enjoy your beer without spilling it! At one point, a dancer challenged the audience to clap as fast as they could while he kept up with his feet. Pretty impressive, but also explains why he's so skinny.
So, yeah, there's actually food here, too. Many of us decided to try the fish and chips and one tried the Gnocchi. Having sampled both, I might actually prefer the Gnocchi. The fish and chips were good, but not as great as I'd expected. The Gnocchi, however, was excellent. Before the meal even came out, they served bread with a Guinness reduction sauce. That could be a meal by itself, combined with some liquid bread. Of course, if beer is your thing, they offer multiple choices, including some flights. They also do this for whiskeys if you prefer those.
Long story short, if you can manage a visit here on a night when they're offering live entertainment, give it a chance. Unless you don't like foot-stomping fun music and good food.
Update - 05/21/21 I am amazed when I read negative reviews about Raglan Road. I wonder if it's the same place I'm going to? I'm not one to knock another person's opinion, but I have never had a negative experience here. And I've been here 4-5 times in the past year.
I've been for lunch, dinner, drinks and almost everything in-between. The staff is always - always - over the top friendly, making suggestions about food and drinks, engaging in quick banter or jokes and checking in regularly.
The food has always been good and the beverage choices pretty deep. If that's not enough for you, there's usually live entertainment, whether dancers or musicians - or both. The whole place just reeks of Irish food and fun.
Whether it's Bangers and Mash, Gnocchi Sea - Gnocchi Do, Braised Be Beef or even just a cheeseburger, the food always satisfies. Then there's the multitude of beers and whiskeys to have as individuals or a flight if you're up for a taste testing. What else could you want?
Get on a reservation list - especially during weekends or crowded seasons. This place fills up and walking in will be next...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe simply loved Raglan Road!! From the moment we walked in and were greeted , and our waiter Ramon, until we walked out the door at the end of the night the service was exceptional!! This was our first time here and it is located in Disney Springs towards the back by Paddlefish and behind T-Rex restaurants. Our reservation ( made through My Disney Experience in the app and highly recommended) was for a late seating as we were flying into Orlando late that day. But we made it just before our 9:45 pm reservation. It is a beautifully designed establishment and from what I read before we got there it was built in Ireland and designed and created by Irish craftspeople and sent over here . The entire pub is authentic Irish. The music and entertainment are Irish. When we arrived there were male Irish dancers on stage and the music was quite loud. While we were prepared for that we did request to be seated away from the stage so that we would be able to talk and enjoy from a bit of a distance. We were accommodated without hesitation. Ramon, our waiter was simply wonderful throughout and very knowledgeable and attentive. He offered to move us to a better table so we would have a view of the stage. He explained that the three girl band that took over after the dancers were playing their last night at the pub that night and heading back to Ireland afterwards. He offered menu selections and seem to know each dish quite well. We got the Comfort Bread and Onion Rings as appetizers. I thoroughly enjoyed my onion rings . The Comfort Bread was simply not my thing, although my boyfriend absolutely enjoyed it. For my entree I got the Fish and Chips. Simply delicious š. Crispy breaded and perfectly tender on the inside. The Chips ( French fries) were also delicious. The other entree was the Pork Schnitzel which my boyfriend said he enjoyed very much. Although Ramon tried to convince us to try the dessert, the hour was late and they were getting ready to close so we said we would take him up on the offer the next visit. Because we WILL go back again!! The atmosphere was lively but not roudy and everywhere people were engaged with the Irish band and enjoying their time. The pub remained busy even as we were leaving as people at the bar were on their last call. There is also an outside bar and a gift shop although we did not have enough time to explore either one. Ramon was exceptional. Ask for him if you go. Not only is he an employee , a great asset to Raglan Road, but we discovered in our talks that he is also a Disney fan!! Perfect...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreIt took a long time to wait for a table even if you āreserveā a table you donāt really have a reservation. Ours was at 7:30 pm Boxing Day after Christmas & we were called at 8:10 pm & seated 8:25 pm. Recommend booking for 4:00 pm so you might get a table with live Music with your meal that starts at 4:30 pm
The service was ok. Our server announced sheād bring waters & bread. Bread never showed & at the end boys were still hungry so had to order & pay for it (just like Italy, but weāre not in Italy).
The ladies who escorted you once your table was called seem to wait around & some cannot vocalize whoās being called. Management might consider a p.a. System to call the patrons rather than everyone milling around not able to hear who was being seated.
The food was excellent but took 30 minutes & the portion of Shepardās pie was overpriced at $28 for the serving provided with zero sides (all extra house salad $9), wife had the gnocchi which Was a bit more generous of an entree at $26. Kids meals were $12-13 respectively but do not include drinks like at other Disney dining establishments & were extra. They had water.
Alcoholic Drinks are like all of Disney locations overpriced with domestic beers starting at $9 & a 1/4 shot of Whiskey at $10. Too expensive for a family man. Canāt waste $10 on a Guinness when I can get 2x of them for $12 at any other Irish pub or a 6 pack from the store.
The live music is fabulous but the sound system or the guy running it incompetent as it wasnāt loud enough even to hear what the clogger dancers were saying when they spoke as the pub is quite loud with people talking about their day.
If you want to sit at a table to see & listen to the music expect another 1 hr wait & no way I could see to āreserveā one of those tables. Very disappointed when we were seated in large booth & had to stand & move towards the stage to hear the players or watch the dancers for one or two songs.
This is my second time at the pub. First time had lots of good memories. Second time not so much & will seek out an Irish pub in Orlando to get my Celtic fix & Irish...
