I have been staying at this hotel for about four years now, and it has gone further and further downhill during that time. This hotel used to be a great value years ago, but now, I can no longer justify spending money here. First of all, the employees are very rude and are not knowledgeable about topics that you have questions on. Upon our last visit, we inquired about whether we had booked a room in the high rise (indoor) building of the hotel or the courtyard/garden (outdoor) area. This information was not available on the website during the booking process. The employee said there was no way for her to know, so a different employee came over. She saw what we were paying and LAUGHED at us, then shook her head and said, “For what YOU’RE paying, no, just no. It’s way out of what you’re paying to stay in that building!” She wouldn’t even tell us how much extra it would cost us to get a better room, just kept laughing and shaking her head at us, seemingly implying that we wouldn’t be able to afford it anyways. This was a very unsettling and hurtful start to the visit. It isn’t up to an employee to make financial decisions for the customer, that is none of her business. We asked her for information, and she just laughed and shook her head very rudely and arrogantly. Then, before we could even make it up to our room, we were told to stop by the customer service desk for our “welcome package”. We made it clear we were only staying one night and not going to the theme parks. We were running on limited time. We tried to bypass the whole Time Share lecture that this hotel loves to burden you with, but an employee literally came running over and stood in the way of the exit so we had to talk to her. They wasted ten minutes of our time, not listening to us trying to explain that we weren’t interested, only to see that we were only staying one night and dismissing us finally. I passed by multiple families complaining about their time being wasted by aggressive, rude staff accosting them and trying to manipulate them into attending these Time Share presentations. You are scamming your guests and creating a horrible experience and reputation for yourself! The rooms are not clean either. On a previous visit, there was garbage and ants everywhere. Bags of empty chips and garbage were strewn about on the walkway. We had to try to step around it, and bugs and flies were swarming everywhere. Our room was infested with ants, and when we called the front desk to report it, they wouldn’t let us switch rooms, instead sending up an employee with a bottle of cleaning spray, wiping a few areas, and then leaving. Needless to say, it did nothing for the ant problem. The room we just stayed in was dangerous, specifically the bathroom. The shower and toilet and sink area were all combined in a big tiled room. The shower leaked into the entire bathroom, flooding the floor so badly that any towels we put down to stop it were instantly soaked. There was a single, thin, ripped fabric curtain to contain the water, but since the shower was only separated from the room by this curtain, it did nothing to keep in the water. There was NO bathtub, no door, nothing. We slipped horribly, and I had a sprained ankle too, so I was terrified I was going to fall and injure myself further. It’s so incredibly dangerous and irresponsible to have nothing to keep people from falling, and to not even provide a proper shower curtain to at least ATTEMPT to help fix the problem. The carpet was also filthy and had huge clumps of dirt and debris on it. I’m not sure if the rooms are even being vacuumed regularly. The information on your phone systems and the information the front desk provides contradict each other. The only thing this hotel has going for it is the fact that it’s such a short distance away from Disney Springs. But there are other hotels nearby too, and it might be worth it to look into other options instead of wasting your time and money here. I used to recommend that people stay here, but now, I advise everyone to avoid this hotel at all costs!

Checked in on Oct 1 for two nights. The recently refurbished lobby was welcoming but it went downhill from there when they wanted to charge us $30 per day to park when all the current web information stated $25. It’s not the $5 bucks, but they should be consistent and timely. They finally did adjust the fee at the end. Room 1080 is on the ground floor near the pool, no problem there, but the rooms are old and small and although recently refreshed, not refurbished, there is only so much “lip stick you can put on a pig”, as the saying goes. The carpets felt old and dirty, and would have preferred some easy to clean tile / plank product, especially with kids and the pool. Went to put away our valuables in a safe that would not work, okay still livable. Went to plug in a charger or two in outlets that would not hold the plug in place, it’s only a couple of nights, still livable. Now to be fair, the room was as clean as it could be and the bedding freshly made and comfortable. We were two adults their to shower and sleep maybe 6 hours a night before early admission to the parks. The hotel did provide an excellent and timely shuttle service. The room felt very humid, everything felt cold and damp, probably around at least 70% humidity level. Turning the A/C colder just made the problem worse as it was blowing cold moist air, even on the fan only mode. By this time we were too tired to complain and managed for the two nights. So after the first chilly and moist night, a hot shower would have been nice, didn’t happen. For the entire stay the water was barely warm, even after 10 minutes with water pressure that was almost non existent, a 70 year old man with an enlarged prostate can urinate with more pressure, no seriously. Also, be aware that the shower head is approximately 5 feet high so for those that are tall
, and there is no handheld sprayer for convenience or to hose down the kids. I’d give it one star except it being kinda clean and it’s location. Don’t understand all the positive reviews.

POSTING FOR A FRIEND - AMBER GARCIA ** 🚹Terrible Experience at Wyndham Lake Buena Vista Disney Resort** 🚹 I had high hopes for our stay at the Wyndham Lake Buena Vista, but from the moment we arrived on Wednesday, nothing went as planned. We booked a lakefront room through our travel agent, only to be given a room overlooking the dumpster parking lot next to the loading dock. After spending 24 hours in this room, we started noticing something seriously wrong—everything felt damp. There was visible condensation on the dresser, and even the bed, sheets, and pillows felt wet. I woke up in the middle of the night with moisture all over my body and wet hair. We went to the front desk to report the issue and were told all the tower rooms were booked. The only other rooms available were also exterior perimeter rooms. We were offered to switch, but it was very late, and I had a crying, sleepy toddler with me. We were told they’d refund two nights of resort fees, so we decided to tough it out, thinking we'd be at the park most of the time anyway. But this morning was the last straw—everyone in our room woke up with little welts that looked like bug bites. We pulled back the sheets and mattress pad only to find mold and mildew on the mattress pad! How could a Disney partner hotel, supposedly child-friendly, allow such a health hazard? I took videos and pictures and immediately went to the front desk. Their response? A refund of resort fees and a discount for our next stay. That’s it. This is unacceptable for any hotel, let alone one affiliated with Disney. I felt it was important to share this experience so others can be aware. Be cautious if you're planning a stay at Wyndham Lake Buena Vista. What we experienced was far from a magical Disney experience—more like an epic fail.

Double queen room was clean but relatively small for the price; the bathroom is particularly challenging as it does not have a very good fan, but you can't leave the door open and get out of the shower because the door nearly touches the toilet when it's open, and both block your way out of the shower.

Location is excellent, really is just steps away from the Disney Springs area, and it has a complimentary shuttle to the Disney parks that is a lot less frequent than the Disney resort shuttles but frequent enough to plan around. The buses themselves are a bit of a challenge for anyone requiring ambulatory aids/scooters, as the back ramp takes a while to set up manually and leads to some delays. The bus is a double-decker with quite narrow stairs, so if you are traveling with younger children (i.e. tons of bags), then that makes for a bit of a hassle.

Service-wise, this location is very challenging to call. There was an error on our charges that I found after checking out, and when I tried to call the hotel with the phone number printed on my receipt, I was directed to a central line that took multiple pre-recorded messages, holds, and redirections to finally get me to someone who just asked me, "Did you try contacting the property?" (Obviously I did, that's why I called THIS number, and ended up with YOU on the phone! Why would you ask me this question??) Getting this error rectified has led to a chain of emails, none actually seeming to be aware of the original issue I had explained to the service personnel on the phone, which is VERY frustrating as the hotel staff communicate with a tone of blaming me for the error? I'm STILL waiting for this to be fixed.

As a very minor issue (but in retrospect, seems to be in line with this pattern of service-related problems), we tried to find a staff member at the bell-stand to pick up our luggage, but no one was there so the sign indicated to speak to the valet desk. We did so, and the staff member at the valet desk did not even say hello or make eye contact, just pointed behind us back at the bell-stand when we stated we needed to pick up our luggage. It was extremely rude. The staff member had actually returned to the bell-stand by the time the valet desk employee "spoke" to us (if you could even call it that), but since the desks are across from each other, when we are facing the valet desk we can't see that. I was very unimpressed; the bell-stand staff member was lovely and very helpful, but their colleague at the valet desk was the opposite.

Bottom line: If you want to have easy access to the parks more affordably than the Disney Resorts, this location fits the bill, but it's best for couples or smaller families given the small washroom layout (no access to a sink outside the bathroom either, so for best ease hopefully you're traveling with people that are comfortable with you using the sink while they're showering haha). Also, you best hope there are no issues with charges or other errors because it's a giant headache to get any of those fixed.

UPDATE: The chain of emails continues, the ongoing accusations that I am wrong continues despite the fact that the customer service representative has acknowledged the double charge on my account... why is it so hard to just get the erroneous double charge removed??? I am happy to pay what is due, but I refuse to pay...

I always make it my duty to attempt to leave Honest reviews. This was my first adult planned Disney World trip ! I haven't been to Disney since a child so I thought it would be a full circle moment to relieve those childhood memories with the family I created. We stayed at the Wyndham Garden Lake Buena Vista Disney Springs Resort Area and I was so excited by how close it was to the park ! Even tho we drove and parked at Disney the hotel was nice enough to give us a brochure for the Bus schedules, That was the last nice memory I have from this hotel. As I was checking in I accidentally forgot my phone in the car and I informed the lady checking me I was running to my car which was parked right infront of the hotel and I ran, not even 2 minutes passed by and she was assisting someone else, it didn’t bother me because I understand how hectic checking in can be (even though I was only gone for 1 minute) what bothered me was she didn't even acknowledge me or ask someone else if they could assist me or anything. I felt as if I was just a number. Once I checked in I was let down because I didn't get the same feeling I did when I was looking at the internet photos (online) the hotel seemed so incredible but in person it was very dull and somewhat old looking. The room was very basic but I did love the fact they applied Dove Soap and products for personal use. The bed was comfortable. I was annoyed they had a refrigerator but NO microwave. I found that out the hard way Once I ordered a box of pizza I ended up wasting because I couldn't reheat it in my room. I believe there might have been a microwave by the lobby but the signed said "no outside food" and my room was far from the lobby. Parking is $23 and a $75 deposit fee. (NOT Including resort fees), the outside bar host were not friendly to my family and I and they Do not make good alcoholic drinks at all. $30 for 1 drink. I asked for a volleyball and was told someone had it but no one was at the net so I don't know if I was being lied to or if they just didn't want to give us a ball. Secondly this is a hotel with hundreds of guest why would you only have 1 ball?! Anyway I didn't find the staff friendly or helpful, the only time I enjoyed myself was when I used the inside bar. They were awesome! Outside of that I would not recommend this hotel to couples especially with children unless they have great imagination because this hotel was very boring. More geared towards business companies. They have a pool, It was littered with insects and no one came around with a net to check and sweep the pool and we were told to get out of the pool (all guest) because lightning was 10 minutes away from us. I honestly wish we stayed at a better property during our Disney trip but moving forward knowing what I know now. This hotel will never receive another penny from me. Hope this review helps others in...
