I was incredibly disappointed with the customer service at this restaurant recently. We made a reservation for three people, including our 9-year-old daughter, and upon arrival, I informed the staff that we had a child with us. We were seated, but when I asked for a kids' menu for my daughter, we encountered the first of several issues. The waiter returned with a kids' menu but told me that my daughter could only choose from two items out of the ten options. When I questioned why she couldn’t have the spaghetti with meatballs, which was on the menu, the waiter explained that Disney's policy prohibited her from ordering anything from the kids’ menu that was on the adult menu because she was "too old" for a kids' meal. This was confusing, especially since I had already informed them that she was 9 years old, and I was left bewildered as to why this policy was being enforced in such a rigid and unfriendly way. I asked to speak with a manager to clarify the situation, hoping for a resolution. When the manager arrived, he repeated the same policy, insisting that my daughter was "too old" for a kids' meal. At that point, I offered to show our Disney Resort reservation to prove my daughter’s age. The manager agreed to look at it, and after reviewing the reservation, he finally allowed her to order a kids' portion. What should have been a simple meal turned into an uncomfortable and embarrassing experience for my family. We were made to feel like we weren’t being truthful about my daughter’s age, which is completely out of line with Disney's typically excellent customer service standards. We had to go through unnecessary hoops just to receive a reasonable resolution. In the end, the waiter did offer us a "complimentary" dessert, which was a nice gesture, but it shouldn’t have come to this. If the staff had just assumed positive intent and treated us with the customer care Disney is known for, none of this would have been necessary. It’s frustrating when a brand with such a strong reputation for hospitality fails to deliver in a situation like this. Sadly, this experience left a sour note...
Read moreI am supremely disappointed I wasted my dining entitlement here. There are 2 other Italian restaurants in Disney Springs that are far more worth your time and money, and I urge you to go to either Enzos Hideaway or Maria and Enzos. They are both excellent. Here is my detailed review:
Ambiance- There is no doubt this is a nicely thought out restaurant. From the outside it looks like buildings I have seen when visiting Italy. The interior decor is nice, if a bit understand. Too bad, this is where my positive review ends.
Service - The service here is HORRIBLE, especially for what you pay to eat here. I have glowing reviews of many restaurants in Disney Springs. Even the quick service locations like Chicken Guy and Earl of Sandwich have friendly outgoing staff. The hostess was super nice and accommodating, but that’s where the good service ends. My server was BEYOND horrible. He could have cared less if I was there or not. It took over 40 minutes to get bread and water. I always ask my server what they recommend, as they usually have great input. My server had never even tried the food. Maybe he should because not only was the service horrible, but the food was bland and uninteresting.
Food - One word ... BLAND. For my appetizer I had the fried stuffed olives. They were olives and they were fried, but stuffed? With what? It was supposed to be herbed ricotta. There wasn’t anything in mine. Entree was the crab linguini... supposedly in a lemon caper sauce. Lemon? Nope! Capers? A few! It was like linguini with olive oil and some flaked crabmeat. Even salt and pepper didn’t help. There were 2 items worth mentioning, the bread was outstanding and the chocolate cake was delicious.
Overall this meal would have run close to $100 for just me. I don’t mind paying that money fir truly exceptional food and service, but I have had better food and service at The Olive Garden (which is 1 step above...
Read moreThis is my second time going to this place and unfortunately it was the same experience, below par.
Price: Since the food quality was not up to the standard price, it is definitely overpriced.
Atmosphere: It was nice, the views were beautiful right by the waters of Disney Springs. The art looks great, it was Italian themed. However the restaurant wasn’t as clean as I thought it would be, the windows were dirty, especially around the crevices.
Service: I recommend reserving ahead of time, most restaurants in Disney are booked especially on the weekends. Since we reserved, we were seating within 2 minutes. The waitress was very nice, she always made sure if we needed anything she’ll get it done, gave recommendations when we asked and I believe one of the managers even thanked you for coming.
Food: My first experience with the food wasn’t as good as I thought, and it is still the same. The appetizer was okay, we ordered some fried rice balls which in my opinion had too much rice not enough cheese. For our entree, I ordered a chicken Alfredo which had peas and sun dried tomatoes and honestly overall it reminds me of cafeteria food that was microwaved. The sauce had absolutely no flavor, the tomatoes where too crispy in my opinion, and it was not pleasant. My wife ordered the pork gnocchi and it was just a handful. The gnocchi was not fresh, the pork surprisingly is shredded which is not bad but surprising and it was sloppy, we even found a French fry in the entree.
Verdict: This place has a great outdoor seating, I recommend sitting outside by the waters when it’s not as hot. Unfortunately the downfall for me was definitely the food. After a second time, I wish they could review and revamp their menu. I ended up taking it to go to enhance the entrees on my own. If they do this I...
