March 27, 2024. We arrived and there was another party waiting to be seated. The lady who turned out to be our server (Melisa?), grabbed some menus and seated the couple who were already waiting. Before she came back, another couple came up to the register and when Melisa returned, without saying a word to us, started to ring them up and complete the transaction. When she was done I asked why she chose to take care of them before seating us, which would have taken about 20 seconds. Her weak excuse was, "Well they already finished and they needed to pay." The last email offer I received before visiting on that day was on March 25th and included the Original Grand Slam for $5.99. I asked Melisa if the Original Grand Slam was still for $5.99 and she said it was $6.49. I was a bit puzzled but I thought there may be a difference due to being in a another state. We each ordered the Original Grand Slam and I ordered an extra order of toast. Finally, another person served us our meals. My order of toast was missing. Also, it appeared that there was some of our order missing. We both had one sausage link and one strip of bacon. The grand slam is supposed to have two of each. I told Melisa that the orders were wrong and she said this was the Everyday Value Slam and that is what it came with. If that was the case, she was still incorrect because that meal comes with either sausage or bacon but not one of each and we did not order it that way. Even the appearance of the food was not very appealing (SEE PHOTO). We decided to eat as she was not around to address anything. When I did get to ask about the toast, she started walking off to prepare it. I told her to forget it as I was almost done. She said she had not even placed it on my order. As a result of the poor treatment and incorrect orders, I did not leave her a tip. Do yourself a favor...
Read moreI took my 3 year old to lunch one morning. I ordered a meal to share with her. One of my sides was turkey bacon. I asked the waitress if she could tell the cook to go ahead and cook it hard, "if you think it's burnt that's perfect." When our food came a few minutes later I knew the bacon wasn't correct. I wrapped in in a napkin and asked the young lady if she could just "toss it back on the grill, please?" She took it back, without a word. I divided up breakfast with the kiddo and got to eating. By the time we were done 20-25 mins, the bacon still hadn't come. The waitress swung by and asked if we needed anything (lol). I answered kindly with a smile, "The bacon would be good." She said,"Oh right, " and went to the window and called out,"I need turkey bacon burnt please," About 10 minutes later, she came back with it on a plate. I had already packed up my leftovers and had the check in hand, so I said thank you, tossed it into the container told her to have a good day and went to pay . She never once during our encounter smiled, or offered a suggestion to resolve the problem of the bacon. I could give a hoot less about the actual bacon, its more important to me to be treated decently by people.
When I got to the register to pay the young man there tried talking to my toddler (bless him) and she was grouchy. She started to yell so I said hello to him and focused back on her. When he processed my payment and tip I looked up to him to get the receipt and he had walked away without saying anything. I was a little petty and said out loud to myself "I'll just have a good day then thanks."
I'm extremely understanding of the retail industry and what we all go through everyday with customers and dealing with the public.
I do not settle for being treated less than worthy of basic courtesy. I see you Dennys of Lake Charles... that'll be...
