Every time I step into the Chipotle near my apartment, I'm greeted by Zachary's sour expression. He’s a heavyset guy with a mustache perpetually glistening with grease, as if it’s a badge of honor for enduring this job. Today, as I ordered my usual burrito bowl, Zachary made a point of raising an eyebrow and curling his lip in that condescending way he's mastered. It felt like he was punishing me for his life choices with every disdainful glance.
When it came time to ring me up, he did so with the same forced effort, his meaty fingers punching the keys with a deliberate slowness. I half-expected him to swipe my card and then dive into the leftover scraps behind the counter like a seagull, scavenging for a mid-shift snack.
It was almost as if his every movement was a reminder that he hated this job, and by extension, anyone who walked through the door. And yet, despite it all, I kept coming back. Maybe it was the food, or maybe it was the bizarre fascination with Zachary’s uniquely miserable presence.

Read moreIt was slow inside the restaurant and the gentleman was nice at taking my order right away. It was hard to hear him but that was fine. He sort of overfilled the burrito I ordered which led to the problem. He went and asked for help from another person because he couldn’t get the burrito wrapped. The female worker came over to help and just flopped the burrito all over the place and rearranged the wrapping so that every different part of the burrito was layered instead of a little bit of every ingredient in each bite; basically the worst way to wrap a burrito. And then did such a sloppy job I could tell it wasn’t even fully wrapped. Sure enough the burrito fell apart as soon as I got it home and opened it. The female cashier who helped the male forgot to give me the chips I ordered so I had to ask for those after she walked away. And then the root-beer was out of syrup. Not the best experience I have had. I hope other people’s...
Read moreI went in to this Foothill location on May 20th, 2020 at 3:20pm, I asked the cashier for a large chips and large guacamole, although unfortunately the lady cashier charged me for a regular size, but the large side of guacamole was already made and next to her. So she threw the large full guac away with force as if to make a point, which then another employee proceeded to make the regular that I had paid for. I would’ve paid extra for the miscommunication and to receive the large guac, although it happened so fast and I was so stunned by the speed at which the cashier lady decided to forgo an opportunity of a kind gesture(it was already made so give it for free?), so I didn’t say anything. Pretty disappointed with this locations employees as of late, minimal respect for customers. But it’s chipotle, I shouldn’t expect great customer service. Thanks...
