Firehouse Subs Foothill Ranch Towne Center — Restaurant in Lake Forest

Yesterday I was on my way to firehouse subs foothill ranch and because I was already driving I didn’t want to pull out my phone to order on the app while driving so I called in my order. They were nice when ordering but unfortunately I couldn’t make it anymore to firehouse subs so I had the moral dilemma whether to call them or not. I decided the right thing to do is call them and let them know so they don’t have to deal with the burden of the 3 sandwiches I ordered but when I called a young man answered and was super nice but said unfortunately he couldn’t help me and I would have to speak to the manager so I waited about 3 minutes until she came on the phone and her first thing was “how can I help you?” So in my head me waiting 3 minutes for her, he explained I had to cancel but she acted like she didn’t know anything so I explained to her and she was so rude about it. She said “well we already made the sandwiches” so I kept telling her I was so sorry and I’m sorry they already made them but I couldn’t pick them up and she said “I have to charge you a cancellation fee” but so rude about it. She had a rude attitude about it. She said “what’s your card number” so I read it to her and she asked for expiration and security code then once she got all that she was silent so I said “was that everything you needed?” And she said “yes bye and hung up the phone” that right there was super rude. No thank you or anything just bye. I was saying sorry the entire time because I felt bad I couldn’t make it anymore and they made the sandwiches but the way she treated me was ridiculous. That is not the way a manager should behave towards a customer especially when I am apologizing multiple times for the inconvenience. She charged me $28 for not being able to make it which I also think is ridiculous. And honestly I could’ve not called and not answered their calls if they called me and made her deal with it but I instead thought I should do the right thing and this is how I was treated. Good, Bad and Ugly...... The GOOD was the pickle spear and wheat roll. The BAD was the Club on a Sub and Veggie sandwiches. The amount of ingredients were small. Even the lettuce was shredded so fine it got lost in the melted cheese. Even the veggie sub had melted cheese which I didn't want. They use canned mushrooms and was unable to see but 3 or 4 slices of black olives as requested. I could go on but suffice it to say both sandwiches were a disappointment. The UGLY was the price...we paid $30 for 2 sandwiches. Not a problem if they had been good. The sandwiches are assembled out of our sight so unable to see what you will get. You should spend more money on quality and quantity than the fancy packaging for the subs. This location was well staffed, not overly friendly but polite. The place was empty. Last time I had this was by ordering through Doordash! Today we actually came into the restaurant. It’s spacious inside, and you can also seat outside.

Ordering was quick and easy. Staff was very friendly and professional. Lots of choices on sandwiches and drinks.

Our sandwiches were ready within 10 minutes or so. And they both were full of flavor, delicious, and fresh!

You can also order online and pick it up, or just do Doordash. But obviously, it will taste much better dining in!
