As much as I enjoyed my first 2 visits to Jersey Mike's of Lake in the Hills, it saddens me to report the uncomfortable visit my wife and I experienced yesterday (Saturday nov 4th) evening at 6:30pm. We walked in as the only customers in the place, although another gentleman walked in moments behind us. There were 4 employees standing behind the counter talking amongst themselves while they completely ignored us. After a few moments, they broke their conversation huddle and acknowledged our presence. Notice, I did not say that they greeted us. It was an uncomfortable and awkward period of time as we waited for the 4 employees to decide if we were worth the time to provide service for. I might add, a letdown, after I had boasted to my wife about how awesome the food was at Jersey's (she had never been there). At one point, I turned to the other gentleman who had walked in after we did, and we both said simultaneously, " Are we are inconveniencing them?" Eventually our order was processed, and I asked the person who took our order how I can add to my points (I had recently signed up for their point system). He told me to sign in my tel # at the cash register. I paid, and then asked "how do I add to my points, to which I was informed that I "should have signed in on the keypad prior to paying", oooookay, now that I know that... They said I could provide them with my tel #, and they would see if they could add the points to my account. No, I did not give them my number, because they (the employees were not very convincing that they knew what to do). Read moreUp Date as of 10/26/21... I received an email when I posted about the poor service stating how sorry they were to hear about my review. They would send me a coupon to try and make up for it. I never received it. I was going through my old email, deleting old mail, and ran across the email stating they would send a coupon. I reached out to them stating that not only was their service at the restaurant poor, so was their customer service. I received an email right away stating they were sorry for the "over look". I did receive two discount coupons yesterday. After all this, I still like their sandwiches.... I am literally standing waiting for our sandwiches..been here 15 minutes.. my sandwich has been on the counter for 5 minutes. I have never gone into a Jersey Mikes and watched someone weigh the bread, then slice the cheese and meat sooo thinly where I had to ask the guy if he was planning on putting any meat on my sandwich and then weigh it again. I asked for extra cheese cause it was pretty much non existent and they charged me 2 dollars for paper thin cheese (actually I think paper is thicker than the cheese he sliced). I walked out of here paying 33 bucks shaking my head what did I just pay for….
