Let me first say that this is not my first time visiting, as I have patroned this restaurant many times over the last 15 years. I have never had a fantastic experience here but up until now I have been satisfied with my service and food. However, this past time I was disappointed greatly with the waitress we had. Not only was she unfamiliar with the limited menu, she was moderately snide, and overbearing. When asking about ingredients in 2 different items on the menu she just shrugged frustratedly and responded with 'I 'ont know', with no attempt to get an answer from someone who may know. It took us about 10-12 minutes to make our dinner selections as we were both attempting to choose something new, and that seemed to be an inconvenience to our waitress, though they were at less than 20% capacity. The portions have reduced, which to an extent, is to be expected over time. But for a 20 dollar plate, I would have enjoyed at least a full scoop of mashed potatoes with my 12 shrimp. The cornbread was tough as well, which may have been the biggest disappointment, as they always shined with their cornbread and coleslaw. I will say the shrimp was cooked well. Not over seasoned or over done. All in all, if you are craving seafood and dont not want to cook yourself, they may provide what you are looking for. Just do not expect great service, or an exemplary...
Read moreI was very skeptical while waiting for a table we haven’t had great service in lake Jackson , However I was blown away by the food, service and atmosphere! We’re new to the area and We always like trying news restaurants instead of the same chain restaurants example red lobster, chili’s etc. So we waited 25 minutes for a table for 6 on a Friday night around 630! Perfect wait time! We’ve waited longer at the above mentioned restaurants! Our waitress was “Amy” we sat in the bar area! Let me just say we were blown away by her ability to stay on top of our table and many others. It was super busy but she made sure we had everything we needed , cleaned our table as we cleared plates and topped our drinks off! Even the owners wife was in the bar area and was checking on us to make sure we were set! If that’s wasn’t enough the food was delicious I had the blacken red snapper with green beans and grilled vegetables! It was delicious, seasoned was right on! My fiancé had the fried and grilled shrimp he said the fries were just as good as “Captain dee’s “ if not better. My oldest daughter had the waffles and chicken her plate was empty enough said ! We have found our new favorite spot for us to eat! You guys have a forever customer thank you for the best service! We need more GM’S and Managers and staff like you guys have at many other restaurants! You guys...
Read moreI really want to like this place because i love cajun food. We've been a couple of times now and it has some good food, and some awful food. Don't order the crawfish queso from the appetizer menu.. it's decidedly the worst restaurant queso we've ever had (4 of us). The consistency was more like a gravy and it was extremely grainy.. which happens when either the wrong cheese is used or it's heated too high. The flavor and texture was slightly nauseating and none of us could eat it. It also had a film over the top the way gravy does when it's been sitting for a while.. like it wasn't plated fresh. Their gator bites & spicy ranch are pretty good, my 4 year old loves them. I ordered the chicken & waffles and the waffles were up there with the best I've ever had! Nice and crispy on the outside and soft inside, akin to funnel cake. The chicken desperately needed salt but altogether with the waffles was pretty good. If we ever go back I'd order it again, but next time ask for no powdered sugar on top. They put it over most of the plate and it ruins the cajun french fries. Not only that but when it mixes with oil it becomes almost a weird paste on top of the chicken. The restaurant has potential but it's...
