The Home Depot — Local services in Lake Jackson

This location is an absolute joke. Most of the reviews are fake or silly 3 stars who had horrible experiences like us. We live over half an hr away so every mix up ends up costing us 1-2 additional hrs. If we have to wait for somebody at home depot to be located then it can be 4-5 hrs all for a home depot trip!! i have spent nearly 10,000 dollars over the course of 2 months and every single time a pro order has been pulled they have missed items and given us the wrong items. we have had to double and triple check that nothing was swapped out or forgotten. They have blatantly forgotten to load us and left us sitting in the loading zone for over an hr. Finally To be told they couldnt load us and we would need to come back the next day for materials i already purchased and had waited to have loaded. Some items i could not get myself as they had them stored over head. There are hardly ever employees around helping out however parts are where you need them to be sometimes but if you have to ask an employee for help good luck. this location has cost me more money and resulted in set back after set back with our build. When we put a delivery in they delayed every single day to the next day until i requested to have it refunded and cancelled as we had waited almost a week for delivery . When we purchased a large amount of bagged soil we were told it was outside and would need to load it ourselves as garden was closing at 6 during summer. When we got out to the parking lot there was no soil to be found and we had to return another day just to pick up this load. From pro desk to garden to lumber this location has nothing but headaches to offer. With how bad it has become we have started driving the 1-2 hours to houston as we know we will get everything we need the first trip from most of the locations. I have never seen a location mess up so frequently and stay in business. New management is trying to dial things in but the lazy employees / loaders and disrespectful staff will make this location challenging to fix.

Updated went back 5-18 and had an online lumber order waiting for pick up. Took 2 hrs to load and then when i went to return the penske rental the 40-50 year old employee threw a fit because it was parked with the other moving trucks on the opposites side of the store and made sure to take 20 minutes walking down and back to get the mileage. This location is only open due to it being the only one in the area. I will update this review every time we have an experience that is out of the normal weather good or bad.

Edited 2 years later. Location is still unorganized have had a plethora of problems but now we’ve ordered a number of pieces for a bathroom we are building and everything has come in damaged. They replace it but the time we are losing is costing me money. This location needs a serious re training. We spend tens of thousands of dollars with hardware stores and I’ve shifted most of my purchases to Lowe’s even though...

You answered our questions with respect and kindness even though it was not your department. 2023 Thank you for your knowledgeable staff. We have used Home Depot in the U.S. as well as Mexico and we are so happy with our Home Depot family. Y'all have helped us build our forever home and given us large discounts for every truckload of materials and we are so thankful to have you in our lives as our go-to for all our building needs. You also make it fun for us to decorate with so many colors and different materials to choose from. Thanks again for your beautiful staff at each store eager to help us make wise decisions. Our U.S. location is Richwood Texas and Mr Billy helped me so much today even though it wasn't his department he talked to me about blinds for our windows and gave me some good advice that I can run with and a big decision about our decorating needs and he had the nicest country accent and made me feel comfortable and he is so patient I really appreciate him. Mrs Leslie in flooring helped us with the perfect blinds for our new home. She was very patient and delightful. She really took the time with personal interest in the needs of my family with print outs so that we are prepared for any future needs as well. So excited to continue using OUR Home Depot in Lake Jackson as well as Mexico. Please keep on staff these amazing friends who are so helpful and kind and make our experience TRUELY...

It's honestly my #2 spot for home improvement stores only because it's a little trickier to get to but not much and #2 only by a hair. The store offers most everything all home improvement stores do and lots of it so your variety is definitely available. They have about the same # of cashiers also but also have self check which I, for one, have no problem with. The only small issue I have is that you enter at one end of the store and the checkout stands seem like they're way at the other end of the store. Ive never quite understood the need for that much distance separating the 2. If there was tons of traffic, maybe but even in planting season its never that bad. Maybe theres a very good reason, who knows. While I was hoofing it down to the check out I wS still on the lookout for the household cleaner aisle, stopping every few feet to look for the signs listing each aisles content while also peering diwn Isle and passed a griup of maybe 4 employees standing altogether chatting. Now any other time I probably wouldn't have thought twice about it except by the time I got through reading the aisle sign and peering around them it was pretty apparent (or should've been )that an offer of "Can I help you find something?" would've been really appreciated. Alas I went home without my household cleaners because I was tired from my trek through to the other end of the store to self check my handful of batteries. Store was super clean though....
