Stop!! Read this review. Do not go to Geek squad at this location.
Geek Squad presents themselves as the āexpertā and someone you can trust with your PC and all things technical. As such, customers will rely on what Geek Squad tells them.
My father took his pc to them with the simple intent of getting his pc to boot again, thatās it. While there they convinced him āyour hard drive is bad. You need to buy a new one.ā And āalso, your computer is old so you might as well buy a new one before something else goes out.ā
Hereās the thing, Iām using the computer whose hard drive was ābadā to write this review. This original pc works well and was just going through windows updates which was slowing it down. It works fine and is totally stable.
To add further insult to injury the tech knew what he was doing. The tech sat through a few windows updates at the store which you canāt do with a ābad hard drive.ā The tech also moved all the old documents to the new pc which you also cannot do with a ābad hard drive.ā
Ultimately my father bought a new PC he did not need or want due to an outright lie told by a Geek Squad technician.
I went to the store today and asked for a manager. Krystal at the front door advised me she is a manager there and over Geek Squad in particular. The first thing she did was avoid accountability by saying she hasnāt been at this location for the last 6 months. That doesnāt matter when you are a store manager and your associate has done something wrong. She then advised me āno one by that name works hereā even though I handed her the receipts and Geek Squad paperwork.
Krystal then informed me they are told to get the customer a new hdd or new pc because āmemories are special and we donāt want customers coming back later with a broken pc and complaining.ā
I expressed my concern that they will continue to take advantage of people in the area and asked what will be done differently going forward? She just advised me that she will coach them on their talking points. I clarified presenting things as ābadā to a layman vs āoperating optimallyā is misleading to sell parts and pcs. She advised me they did what they are trained to do.
Buyer beware. Do not use Geek Squad at this location. They will mislead and lie to customers knowing full well what they are doing. And when you bring these issues to the attention of management, they will defend the Geek Squad and tell you thatās what theyāre supposed to do. They have no concern that a customer is taken advantage of.

They record everything in their system, I was trying to explain to then my delay on my payment. They ruined my creditā¼ļø After 3 days they reported my late payment fast. This company do not care for their customers. In comparison to other companies I have credit with they are hard to work with. I have other credit cards with Victoria secret, Dillards, Khols, and other stores and they are very understanding this never happened with them because during my delay my payments for them were due but they made exceptions. Their rules are very good and respectful companies they are. Even if we are late with payments they give at least one month before they report it to the credit bureau , i came from my country and checked my credit score and 200 points go down from just BEST BUY. This is where the problem beganā¼ļø ((get ready)) I called them and I explained my situation they said we canāt help you we report it after 3 days i said 3āļø((This was a few months ago. )) But today i got my bill ( i knew my balance was $563 ) i saw the amount went up more than $300, I thought my best buy credit card was stolen or something because I didnāt buy anything! I called them fastā¼ļøTheir explanation was that my amount went up from 500 to 900 because i was paying the minimum and 12months passedā¼ļøHow was i supposed to know this by myself if they donāt even warn me or send letter by mail or call me . This is something nobody can acceptā¼ļøthis company is really a headache and I donāt recommend anybody to do open an account with them. The only employee that even remotely attempted to assist me was the person working the computer section. I went to customer service first & was told to go to the computer or tv section for guidance on solar adapters. Then went back to the Geek Squad after the guy in the computer section admitted after looking it up that he didn't know. Then the "manager" of Geek Squad straight up lied to my face claiming Best Buy doesn't sell solar equipment online, when they do! As someone who works in IT support when you are unsure or don't carry knowledge on a topic DO NOT LIE just say you don't know! While there are no adapters for what I needed. This guy pointed to what my battery could charge and said there was no adapter. When I pointed out he was looking at the wrong port he ignored me and changed it to a 60W panel can't charge my BALDR battery. Another complete LIE. Annoyed I returned my panel with the wrong adapters and bought a different 60W SOLAR PANEL with the correct adapter to charge my power station.
