Bad experience… had dinner with my wife the day before Valentine’s Day.. we usually have spectacular dinning experiences here… to start with they served two tables before us that were seated after us and had drinks and salads on their tables before they had even approached our table🤷🏼‍♂️..not the end of the world, but wasn’t ideal… then when I got the waitress attention and asked what’s up? She snapped at us rude like that our drinks were at the bar🤷🏼‍♂️..and walked off to put in the orders of the other table, again strange but not the end of the world… then came back to get our order..when she did she was rude and acted put out to even be dealing with us… we always tip well and especially do here, so didn’t understand what the rub was? Then the food, getting into my ribeye I realize that it was a very sub par cut with grissle and waaay too much fat…the meat that WAS there was over cooked and tough, was horrible and only ate a small portion of it…. I might have plated this steak for my dog, maybe, but certainly not another human?… we then saw our waitress a grand total one one time the rest of the dinner and when we asked for the check and she FINALLY brought it she tried to literally slap it on the table and walk off when we had the card out and plainly visible….. I had to nearly grab her to take our card….no words just snatched it up and walked off… then set it back down on the table and have a kurt “ have a good night” and walked off…. All in all a crappy experience with well below par service and a horrible steak that I shouldn’t have paid for…. These folks are lock my wife was treating me and is a softy… so she tipped…. I would certainly have stiffed in this situation as is my only tool to break people from sucking eggs and and raise their awareness to bad habits and crappy service…. Very disappointing to have all this at the Grape Taste but for sure won’t be back to enjoy sub par food at inflated prices and bad attitude from entitled servers…. I can find better things to do...

Chef review- This place is heads above other local choices , full stop.

When it comes to Jones Creek/Lake Jackson food its hit or miss. I've been traveling to this city for over 25 years, and rarely every find food this good here. It's very hidden. Had a fantastic time, good service, prices were very reasonable and portions large. I reallY WAS IMPRESSED with the large selection of cheeses and wines.

The tapas menu is perfect for light meals or if your starving they got you covered too with full sized American and seafood entrees.

I did a cheese platter with all the options. They were out of my favorites that i personally stock at home to pair with wine but the runners up were more than adequate. I'd prefer larger cuts of cheese but i come from Eastern European foods. We love bread and cheese. The kabobs were great, shrimp being cooked at same time as beef left them slightly past done but the flavors made it work well. Chicken parm with the alfredo accompaniment was very unorthodox and brave in execution but a winner as well. The ribeye was fantastic and when I asked for rare I actually got rare. Wow. Big points for proper grill Marks on steak and veggies.

As mentioned their wine selection is vast and will not disappoint.

Atmosphere is beautiful inside, dont let the homely exterior fool you. Its warm, all wood and very upscale. It makes you feel like you are about to have a great experience. I'd like to see some lights or heat lamps outside for the outside dining to help reflect the same level of class inside and out.

Staff were kind and helpful full marks.

Over all I'd come back and bring everyone with me. This place should be on everyone's list, so when you are nearby, come try this place out. I highly recommend it my friends. 4.5 out of 5. Great job here....

My 1 star review is based solely on the service we received from Brandon. He was not attentive in the slightest. It took a long time for him to greet us once we got to the table. He finally came to see us and took our order. We had our food before we had our bottle of wine. He says he forgot to ring it in. If this was our only issue with him we would have let it go. But sadly this was just the beginning. He clearly has zero interest in working here. At the end of our meal we asked for a box and the dessert menu. We had wanted to try the cheesecake and the chocolate pie. Guess what? He never came back with the dessert menu. After waiting a long time we flagged him down to ask for the receipt. The attitude from him was intense. When we asked for the manager he told us no one was available and he told us to ‘have a good night’ as he walked away. Brandon is not server material. We would have purchased more drinks and dessert, however we’re not able to.

We came to this restaurant on the recommendation of a client of ours and are beyond disappointed. The food was good, the atmosphere was nice, but Brandon ruined it for us. Jordan tried his best to make things right (he is a good server) but we were just done.

Leaving bad reviews is not my style, but our experience tonight was ridiculous. We spent good money tonight and wish we had gone to Jack in the...

If you’re anywhere near Lake Jackson, Great Taste Restaurant is an absolute gem worth checking out! They’ve been serving the Brazosport community for 16 years and you can feel the heart behind everything they do. What started as a cozy wine bistro has grown into a full-service restaurant offering steaks, seafood, pasta, tapas, wraps, burgers—you name it. The atmosphere is intimate, with just 18 tables, so be sure to make a reservation (especially for dinner!). The happy hour from 2–5 p.m. daily is amazing: $5 tapas and half-priced wine flights. Plus, they run unique specials every night—BOGO half-off tapas on Mondays, steak night Tuesdays, cheese night Wednesdays, $5 wine Thursdays, and $2 mimosas with high-end wine flights on Saturdays. Whether you’re popping in for lunch or planning a date night, it’s one of Lake Jackson’s best-kept secrets. Highly recommend!

Nice spot to enjoy a glass of wine with nice company. The place is elegantly decorated. It looks like a cellar. It has beautiful wood floors, that match with the tables and chairs. We visited this place on a Friday evening, after a long week, thus we were just in the mood for a relaxing dinner. I had a glass of Cabernet Savignon called Dreamed Tree and my husband a Red Blend called Aphotic. My favorite was the Dreamed Tree, it had a splendid smell and the flavor was delicious. For dinner I had the Cobb Salad with fried oysters, with a honey balsamic dressing. The salad was good but the fried oysters were the best. For dessert I had the apple and pecan pie with vanilla ice cream. This dessert was too sweet for my taste. I ate only the ice cream, and asked a to go box for the pie. Next day, I ate it with a cup of coffee with no sugar. It was the perfect match.
