Agro aggressive owner is a big put off to what was a nice spot. Stay away. We have eaten here a dozen or so times in the past few years, always good. We bought a house in Lake Park less than a mile from the catch and after one plus years we finally were able to move in today. We walked to the restaurant with some excitement because we knew we had a good to place so close by. After enjoying some wine and beer and an appetizer, our entrees arrived. My wife took one bite of her ribs and they were so dry a piece got stuck in her throat. She realized we had to go since she couldn't swallow properly. We let the server know to take the ribs back because my wife could not eat them. A few minutes later someone storms up to our table and loudly pronounced that he tried the ribs and they were fine (my wife still had food stuck in her throat). I let him know that I tried them on her request and they were indeed super dry. I mean, I had trouble swallowing a small bite. He tells us we are wrong and stomps off. I exclaim "Dude" because I was so taken aback. He actually comes back to confront us. Keep in mind that we didn't ask for money back and we were trying to be pleasant. His behavior was so bizarre that I mentioned it to the server who tells us this was the owner and she had asked approval from him to remove my wife's meal from the ticket since she obviously had one small bite, couldn't eat the rest, and it wasn't right for us to pay for it. Apparently he took exception to the food complaint. OK, so I tell her that we're not trying to get anything for free and we need to settle up because my wife still has food stuck. We do and leave her half full glass of wine. The owner is waiting by the bar on our way out giving us the evil eye! I I wave and say howdy new neighbors and he shouts something sarcastic along with what I think was unprintable. What a bummer for our first night in our new house with what we thought would be a frequent dinner spot. No one deserves...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI was shocked to see that this restaurant had such high reviews. Following an OFFENSIVE experience here my significant other and I felt it was important to share our review. Upon reading other one and two-star reviews we felt that there is a pattern of bad experiences like ours and this was not a singular event for this business. Of the four items, we ordered two of them were bland and flavorless. 50% is unacceptable. When asked how our food was we told our waitress āit was just okay.ā From that point on we were met with aggression and petty behavior by the ENTIRE staff. The waitress was audibly gossiping about us and never returned to our table except to take our final check. A busboy physically kicked a chair into our table. And for the remainder of the dinner, it seemed that every other employee in the restaurant approached our table with frequent and rude interruptions. At the end of the meal, the hostess asked us to leave twice as we were finishing our drinks and we had been in the restaurant for a total of 45 minutes. It was clear that our honesty incapacitated our waitress and she spent the remaining time we were there toxically affecting the staff around her to the point where we were made to feel uncomfortable. No one enjoys being bullied by unprofessional and immature employees. It was the worst experience I have ever had at a restaurant and I would not recommend this place to anyone. As a person who works in customer service, I would recommend that if your client is openly not enjoying their experience then attempt to make it right. This could have easily been resolved by management or the chef asking what if anything could be done better; Adaptation is a part of capitalism. Unfortunately on reading other reviews, this restaurant has had SEVERAL complaints of ābland foodā and āinattentive and rude waitstaff.ā This menu overall needs more finesse and the staff needs...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreEnjoyed a nice vibe and great tasting food with good company. Everything was going well, until they informed us that they don't have working bathrooms. The men's and women's bathrooms are out of order and when inquiring about where to use the restroom to wash hands etc., we were told to go next door to the gas station. š³ The restaurant's work staff has to use the gas station bathroom also. š© Unacceptable! I told the wait staff if we had known the restrooms weren't working we would have gone to another establishment. And they should have informed us about the restrooms upon entering. There were families with babies there. There were also seniors there eating. Who would expect them to walk next door to the gas station to use the restroom? Where are the wait staff and kitchen staff washing their hands? Thank God my colleague had a hand sanitizer in her purse. The excuse was that it is a small family-owned restaurant. I will probably be back when they have working bathrooms. The customer service was good and friendly even though they never offered to refill our drinks, or bring us extra napkins. My husband tipped all of them very well including the kitchen staff . Food and tips were nearly $500 but I had no place to wash my hands after I ate. š My mind is racing about the staff hand washing. 𤢠And please get one of those zappers...
