I recently discovered Ah-Beetz, and it’s hands down my new favorite spot for New Haven style pizza. The moment you walk in, you’re greeted with the sight of a beautiful coal fire stove, the mouthwatering smell of freshly baked pizza and a friendly smile from the staff. This place has a cozy, inviting atmosphere that's perfect for a casual night out or a quick bite with friends. Keep in mind it is a small venue and parking is limited to what you can find on the street.
The crust is perfectly crispy on the outside and delightfully chewy on the inside, striking the ideal balance that makes New Haven pizza so special. The tomato sauce is rich and tangy, made from the finest, freshest tomatoes, and the cheese is melt-in-your-mouth perfection. I added pepperoni and garlic to the Traditional Mootz Apizza, which blended seamlessly together.
And let’s not forget the wings—these are an unexpected delight in your mouth! They’re crispy and charred on the outside, yet juicy on the inside. A perfect complement to any pizza.
Paul and his staff are incredibly friendly and attentive, ensuring that every guest feels like family. Their passion for the craft is evident in every aspect of the experience, from the expertly prepared pizzas to the warm, genuine service.
If you’re a pizza lover, a visit to Ah-Beetz is an absolute must. This restaurant doesn’t just serve pizza, it creates an unforgettable dining experience that celebrates the rich tradition of New Haven style pizza. Great food, great people, and a great atmosphere with no fuss—what more could you ask for? Do yourself a favor and check this place out. You won’t be disappointed. Looking forward to their new location coming soon to...
Read moreDrove up from Miami for a local concert and we were looking for a pizza joint for our usual "Pizza Friday" meal. Searched online and this place had decent reviews on New Haven style pizza. I am originally from NY, so have a certain appreciation for good Italian food (i.e., pizza, pasta, deserts, etc.).
We were a party of four and were greeted and seated immediately. The place is nice and located in a strip mall. Our waitress was pleasant and very informative. We ordered one (1) large Cheese and one (1) large Margarita with half sausage. I did NOT order "extra crispy" since I know New Haven already comes out crispy! If you order that, you might get a charred pie!
We got the cheese first, excellent crust and the sauce is spectacular! I recommend ordering with extra cheese next time. The Margarita pizza arrived in a few minutes and it was very good, but needed more of the mozzarella cheese, since the ratio of sauce was excessive. The sausages are real sausages (not crumbled pellets) but I prefer sliced. Don't get me wrong, both were excellent pies and I wish they had a location in Miami-Dade county!
Price was reasonable for a quality pizza and the entire meal with beer and sodas with tip was well...
Read moreWent for the first time at around 7:50 Pm an hour before closing time. Guy taking orders immediately tells me wait time for pizza is 35-45 minutes, and I was ok with that as I drove 30 minutes away to get a pie. Did not like his attitude either, I pick up menu and not even a minute into looking at it he tells me right away so did you decide yet so we can place the order. Never been here and never had this style pizza so I was new. I felt the tension and attitude from him and just got 2 traditional as I could tell he was trying to get me out quick . Bear in mind there was no one in line waiting to order besides me. As I sat down and waited for my order I saw the difference in treatment towards some people that came after me and I’ll just say that. If they want to last especially in broadway and Northwood village area where there are 2 other pizza spots not even half a mile away from each other they should consider how they treat customers. I know they are new and busy since it was opening week, but hope they make a change soon and...
