Cute little shop. Had a sweet craving and stopped by to satisfy my belly. I bought 4 different flavored cupcakes: pistachio, butter pecan, carrot cake and sweet potato. Also bought two of their mini pies, coconut and sweet potato. And the star of the bakery, coconut cake. I took my items to go and as soon as I got home I took a bite of the coconut cake.... oh my my! Fluffy cake, yummy frosting, bits of coconut flakes... perfect with a cup of coffee. I haven't tried the other desserts, but the coconut cake alone is a tasty reason to visit bakery. So I couldn't stop thinking of cupcakes and I had to try a bite of each flavor. Carrot cake: Good, nice flavor with visible pieces of carrot and walnuts. I can't say if they add raisins, but I didn't get one in my bite and I'll admit I was ok with that because for some reason I don't like chewing the raisins in carrot cake. That being said carrot cake cupcake is a good choice. Pistachio: I absolutely loved the light smell of pistachio in the frosting. The scent is heavenly when taking that bite. Pistachio enthusiasts this is a must try. Sweet Potato: A new flavor for me which is a fabulous alternative to your next holiday gathering. Honestly, since my goal was to try all four flavors, it was hard for me to stop eating this yummy treat. I fell in love with the sweet potato cupcake! Butter Pecan: Oh boy! Where have you been all my life? The light butter pecan scent from the frosting, the light fluffy cake...all I need is a scoop of vanilla bean ice cream on the side. This will surely be a grand hit at your next holiday gathering. All the cupcakes where light, fluffy cake that tasted fresh. The frosting was tasty, light and airy, not heavy or overpowering. Good balance of frosting and cake. My taste buds were in heaven! The 3" coconut pie did not disappoint 😋 This tiny pie is packed with flavor. A great treat to pack in your lunch. Cafe Sweets, damn your baking skills...

This was serendipity today, coming across this wonderful little bakery as sweet as its name . I rarely get to park on Evernia St. , but what a delightful surprise. Cafe Sweets drew me in with its fabulous case of naughty delights . Theres a dearth of bakeries in this town, and I wasn’t looking for one, but could I resist ? No! I’m sure that many people would love to know about this old fashioned bakery with cake by the slice , little cheese cakes, tiny mini cupcakes and cookies . I brought home the most luscious coconut cake and a small cheese cake that were both phenomenal . This was a real homemade recipe - not a supermarket brand and the choices were difficult . The charming woman who helped me Make my choice , Cora , was so patient and loving. You could tell how proud she was of her product . Whether or not she had a hand in baking these wonderful things -it felt like it. I have only one observation that would make this perfect- would be the smell of coffee. Nothing like coffee with the cake although I saw coffee on the menu board as an option. None was made and it should be on all day but I didn’t see any brewing and didn’t want to ask since I was better off taking my treasures home . But there were tables to enjoy your choices. I would not hesitate to make the effort to go to Evernia St or order an entire cake for any occasion on the phone. Since this block doesn’t have the foot traffic bc of the construction, it’s good to know it’s here and hopefully they advertise everywhere . People will travel for such a superior bakery.
