Irie Jerk Bar and Grill — Restaurant in Lake View Township

My friends I visited this place yesterday and our experience was terrible. First, no one greeted us after standing at the door for five minuets so we deiced to just take a seat. Took the waitress about 20 minutes to come over to our table. They served us tap water in lil red plastic ups and I mean little. We ordered our food and that took about 45-60 minutes to arrive and remind you it was only maybe 4-6 other ppl there when we arrive and they all had food in front of them. Our food came and the owner said I don't know which one is which so you guys can pick over it.( it was four of us) We dined in but yet that served our food in paper containers. I had Lemonade and again in a small plastic red cup. I asked for a refill and asked do we get refill and my waitress replied yes. My checking was salty asl sides were cold and my red beans was dry asl like it's been siting out. I asked for a refill and that took another 40 minutes to come. They told me they couldn't redo my chicken because they ran out. My bill came and I was charged for four drinks after her telling me it's free refills and said '' Well I can't do anything about the check. They wouldn't take me cold salty chicken off my bill nor my '' free refills. This was all our first time and I will never go back. No clue how this place has 4.2 stars. I stopped in 2 weeks ago for a friend’s birthday gathering. We weren’t greeted at the door and found our own party. The server (older gentleman) came around about 10-15 minutes after we sat down. My party had already ordered 3 sets of wings with 3 different sauces. All the wings came out ice cold. Instead of making new ones they threw them in the microwave and brought them back out to us. Our server couldn’t multi task, he became very irritated when taking orders because we spoke to fast for him and if you moved to another table to have conversation with another group he would tell you that you are confusing him and I guess that was his way of asking you to return to your original seat so that he wouldn’t confuse the bill. The drinks are watered down snd expensive for the price. The bar tender was nice. I was done ordering food with the whole cold wings and microwaving them, it completely changed the texture and the experience. Good luck with parking too. There is plenty of parking around but it is difficult to attain depending on the time of day. Also there is only one bathroom and it is unisex. They all wear masks so they do follow covid masking protocols but not...

Fantastic food and atmosphere. If you’re craving good Jamaican food and a fun but informal atmosphere, this is a great spot.

However, be VERY wary of ordering through an app. I was in a rush and noticed that the pickup time was 25-30 minutes so I ordered through Uber Eats. Later my order pickup estimate moved forward to an hour. Once I arrived at the restaurant, I was told to wait 10 minutes. When the pickup time on my phone was reached, they marked it as ready. (They have a sign saying they only mark orders through apps as ready when they are ready, so you’d have to assume this was the case.)

I waited another 45 minutes in person but still no sign of my order. When I asked to cancel, they said they took care of it so I could cancel on my app and get refunded and apologized for the wait. Once I left, to my realization (and to add insult to injury), they marked my order as picked up. Now I’m dealing with Uber Eats to get a refund. Don’t expect the restaurant to act professionally if you have an online order.
