The Graystone Tavern — Restaurant in Lake View Township

Bit of a long one here but... There are two things I love most in this world, the MN Vikings and my birthday. This year, I wanted to get together and have all my friends watch the Vikings take on the Falcons. I knew it was a long shot but I reached out to Graystone to see if there was anyway I could get a reservation. Not only did they get back to me immediately, Kyle, who answered the email, was the most kind and helpful person right from the beginning. He told me it was tough not only because of the Vikings game but there was also a Chelsea match that morning as well and they had a watch party for that before the Vikings game. Thinking all hope was lost, I was ready to throw in the towel but Kyle figured it out and he told me I could have a reservation after the Chelsea game, which wasn't far into the Vikings game at all. Kyle was so helpful and was even unnecessarily apologetic, which I did not need because I was so thankful they were helping me either way!! I arrived at the bar and literally everyone from the bouncer checking ID's to the first bartender I spoke with and then ERICA the amazing MOD, everyone was so sweet and kind and helpful. Went for The Bachelor showing and it was horrible. Have tried to give this place a chance multiple weeks but it’s gotten bad the past few times. Last time there was a group of the bartenders friends who jeered and screamed the second half of the show as they got more drunk. It made viewing the show extremely uncomfortable. In the end they were harassing one of the women there with her friends to date one of them.

To top it off, the food is horrible. I keep trying different options and the food continues to disappoint. Would not recommend the chicken tenders (one time was fine but last time was crazy dry - like cardboard - and when I told the server he offered me more and I obviously said no), the nachos, the burger, and the egg/spring rolls.

On the other hand, I’ve had some fun nights there despite the bad food. The female bartender in the back room is great. They have run a trivia night that looked fun but I’ve never attended. The only good food I’ve had is the pretzel bites, curly fries, and Mac n cheese.

My boyfriend and I have been here before and we had a great experience, food was good and service was good, and mind you, I went during a Vikings game so it was super busy. This time, was a different story. We sat down at the bar and we’re asked our drink order, and that was the last un forced interaction we had with either of the two bartenders. I almost thought they weren’t serving food anymore because of their all around lack of asking us if we wanted food. Both girls were too busy taking shots with their friends. After about half an hour I actually had to ask the bartender myself if we could order food. My food order was wrong, but I ate it anyway.
