I'm a fan. I started going to Slim's last year because I was craving - a severe craving - an almost unnatural craving, a milkshake and discovered getting a milkshake isn't as easy as it should be. I went through a few places before discovering Slim's.
I order the same thing over and over, so I can't honestly speak to the full range of the menu, but let me tell you about the cheeseburger, with everything, a side a fries, and a chocolate milkshake. Its almost a perfect meal. The burgers have the great beefy taste you want and when they say everything... they don't skimp. A good cheap burger, in my opinion, should have enough tomato, onion, lettuce, and pickles to equal the rest of the burger (bun and meat). The bun needs to be - what is the word - toothsome? It should be more than air, but shouldn't be the focus. So Slim's cheeseburgers are just right!
The fries... not exactly my favorite but what they lack in flavor, they make up for in quantity. That works for me. We are talking cheap eats here, not some gourmet crap that makes you weep and repent past sins.
And the shake... made by hand, great chocolate flavor (ask for double chocolate for a real thrill).
I love grabbing a meal at Slim's once in awhile and so will anyone craving a great diner burger,...

Let me start by saying this place had some of the best serving staff I've had the pleasure of dealing with at a restaurant. If the owner is reading this, give those young men a raise! They deserve it for being so kind, helpful, and accommodating. You love to see it.
We got the Slim Burger, Classic Hot Dog, Onion Rings, and Kit Kat Milkshake. Slim Burger was excellent and I believe one of their signature dishes! Filled with the essentials, the star is really the juicy burger patty, which is perfectly crispy, thick and finger liking good to the last bite. The Hot Dog was alright, no knock on these guys as it was very flavorful with each bite. But Chicago; I think you guys just have a kind of boring hotdog. Onion Rings were also quite good, though nothing special. The Milkshake was incredible and if I think of 1 word to describe it, it would be delightful. Filled with chocolatey goodness and very thick, I would like nothing more than to have 1 everyday, but alas one can dream.
All in all a great burger and hot dog place with some amazing milkshake. If you're nearby,...

A cheeseburger, hot dog special and a milkshake were $24 with tax, dine-in... So much for cheap eats...
Now open for dine-in. Fresh cooked food in an open kitchen, '50s style fast food joint. Hot Dogs, Hamburgers and chicken sandwiches are all good. I like their frys with potato skin, a huge portion. Extremely thick milkshakes- about 15 flavor choices. Slim Burger is packed with meat! Sarachi sauce very spicy, better on the side...Lunch for two with sodas and a milkshake was $25w/tip.
I had an old paper menu and noticed that the prices have been creeping up. Fast local delivery. 4 booths inside. Nasty bathroom, gets a grade of D frankly, a porta potty is nicer.
Handicap access good enough, A/C condensate was leaking over entry door, making entering and...
