Add on to the prior review - next time ordering literally had to repeat everything I said on the phone two and three times because the lady who answered kept getting the orders wrong. This was for an office lunch order and the whole conference room was in stitches from the back and forth. So at the end I ask her to say the order back (which of course I also had to repeat) and she’d naturally left off some things. So I tried to fix them and she said something rude and hung up.
So I call back, and someone else more politely says she did put the order in and gives a time estimate. When I got to the store I tried to order something additional but the same lady was behind the counter and got the request wrong again (cheese sandwich instead of cheesecake). And I just gave up.
Big surprise, when we opened the food at the office the order was wrong. Horrible service again…
Great restaurant, appalling website ordering system. Just to be clear, I like their food but the website gets in the way of the whole experience. There’s no way to customize an order, for example to add lettuce and tomato to a sandwich. Their response is “so just call and change the order”, but if I wanted to be put on hold for 10 minutes I wouldn’t be on the website in the first place. So I got a cold sandwich with bread and meat that I could have made at home, instead of a hot sandwich with lettuce tomato and condiments.
The delivery pricing is also very sneaky, it shows $5 as a delivery charge but the total is padded by an additional $3 of “taxes and fees” above the actual taxes. Just charge $8 for delivery and cut out the shenanigans!!! To earn stars back better fix...
Read moreI’ve been to a lot of restaurants, but I’ve never experienced anything like the sheer force of nature that is Julie. This woman doesn’t just serve food; she delivers it, like it’s a sacred gift from the culinary gods. She greeted me like we were old friends, even though I’ve never seen her before in my life, and somehow made me feel like the most important person in the restaurant. She knew exactly what I needed before I did—if I thought about ordering a drink, it was already on the table. I’m convinced Julie has some sort of psychic ability, or possibly an advanced degree in reading minds.
Julie didn’t just wait on us; she anticipated our needs. Halfway through the meal, when my water glass was dangerously close to being half-full, there she was—like a superhero in a black apron—refilling it before I even had time to blink. It was as if she could taste my soul.
If there was an Olympic event for serving, Julie would have 14 gold medals, 3 silver, and a lifetime supply of champagne. I could barely keep up with how fast she moved, yet somehow she remained calm and collected, like she had a secret time machine that allowed her to get everything done before it even needed to be done.
10/10 would recommend Julie. If you ever get the chance to be served by her, consider it a privilege. She’s not just a server; she’s an experience. A...
Read moreThere is not a lot I like about Lake Worth. From the legions of homeless, crime, crowded conditions and downright weird "Austin-by-the-sea" vibe you get from being in this town, it feels like a different world than the pastoral/rural environments I am more accustomed to.
That said, I have two homes in Lake Worth- One where I park my truck and, of course, TooJay's.
I'll be honest with you. When I first came in there several years ago, I had my doubts. "New York-themed?" I asked myself. "I bet they don't even have sweet tea."
Normally I'd pass. But something drew me in, and I'm glad it did. Also, I was wrong about the sweet tea. They have it. It's really, really good.
TooJay's has been the setting of many a meal for me. The waiters, waitresses, managers and cooks know me by name. They know my family by name. Heck, they served us lunch on our wedding day!
I've got my "spot" where we sit, chat with our TooJay's-employed friends and eat food that spans in variety from all over the USA. The food is to die for, the atmosphere friendly and the Key Lime Pie is second to none.
TooJay's Lake Worth is staffed and managed by great people whom I consider my friends. Despite my feelings about the town, this eatery is a diamond in the rough. Five...
