On Tuesday October 21st, I stopped in at Walker Brothers Pankcake House. Unfortunately there wasn't any Parking near the front entrance door, so it had to be the Back lot. As I made way around the property, I entered the main lobby. And once again another disappointment and there wasn't anyone in the front lobby to be greeted by. At the time, I was experiencing a Very bad Head cold and soar throat that morning. So, I had to shout out, can someone come to out to the front desk. Finally a Bus girl came around and looked at me, as if theres something wrong with me and what possibly is that I wanted in a Restaurant standing at the front desk.
So I looked at her back at her, like what do you think I wanted. Didn't you understand what I said in English ?
Now comes out a Dude wearing a An Apren.. Now to that I just had to chuckle.
So he takes me into a crowded dining room. I then asked him, let's try the other dining room.
As I picked a table, I then sat down, and before I knew it, I had a Glass water in front of me, and a Waiter who appeared bored at his job by placing a Menu in front of me and says.. "I'll be right with you " and walked away. He now comes around and says " what can I get you ". I replied, I'll have the 2 by 4 , with no pancakes, a couple of sausage links, with rye toast and I will also have Potato pancakes. To drink he asks, I said Hot tea , with lemon and honey.
I commented, you know the ole expression, Starve a fever but feed a Cold. He looked at me with a Stupid look on his face, like he's the least bit interested why I would say that or what even that it meant.
Well before long, my food was in front of me, and I finished it off and asked for some extra hot water to wash it down with my remaining Hot tea, but apparently he's also hard of hearing, so I then asked for my check, and now he says.. if there's anything else, just let me know. I replied,.. Just the Check.
As I left my table, And went to the front to pay, he comes around the back to look and see if I was going to pay, and Yes I paid in Cash to the Cashiers astonishment thinking that I would use a Credit Card like the rest of today's Society's of Dummies, but as for the bord and Clueless waiter, sadly to say for him, a Zero tip for the Dummy Waiter. Hey Walker Brothers, try hiring...
Read moreI would rather have tipped well for my server as she so efficiently brought out my breakfast, but unfortunately she had a bone to pick with me and her shitty attitude was clearly apparent when she had seen me seated at her station.
I guess she wanted to make a point that she would rather not have waited on me.
She abruptly came up to my table and clearly stared, just when I was half way through my breakfast, and says and does this to me, at the same time her holding the check between her middle and index fingers by pointing out and then uttering " I'm just going to leave this for Your Convenience, but there's no rush, because I'm going to take my break.
I Damn near choked from laughter, but I held it in !
Bearly 🤣😅😂
Well I pretty much finished my breakfast, I got up and walked over to the cashier and looked at the amount of money was required for my breakfast.
So I handed a $100 bill, and get this,.. the cashier gave me such a dirty look, and I wasn't about to talk it out with a hardened Man's face like hers, and luckily, I just so happened to have a dollar bill on me and I thought I would resipicrate the favor and leave it for my waitress as a convenience to her while she was on her break....
Read moreFor the first time I had a terrible experience at Walker Brothers. I have been coming here for years. Don't get me wrong their food is very good. However a table of 20 small children sat alone while parents were sitting at their own tables. The noise level was deafening. One waitress (not our server) acknowledged the issue while pouring coffee (without any comment on our part) and said she would speak to the manager. That was refreshing to have someone at least notice however nothing changed and no further acknowledgement was made until check-out. If parents do not parent then management needs to request that parents sit with the children when they have proven they cannot control themselves. I was told preemptively at check out by our server "thank you for your understanding" I found his attitude condescending and smug. Frankly I don't understand - except if you go by who was bringing in the most $$ . Bottom line I paid Walker Brother prices for a McDonald's experience. Left a very bad taste in my mouth.
P.S. On second thought I have actually seen McDonald's management intervene in similar circumstances. So...
