Sad to say, we didn't even stay. We had started going to Bonefish because the nextdoor carrabba's (same company different proprietor) had taken a turn and was not the same quality that we had been used to. We had been to Bonefish several times pre covid and even during and had been treated really well with great food. Unfortunately, when we arrived they were not overly busy except the patio. We walked in and we told the host we did not have reservations but would like to have dinner he said you may pick ur table in the bar area so we did. We sat down and the table was VERY WABBLeY with dirty napkins tucked under the feet. We sat and looked at the menus for about 4 min and another group of 3 men came in, the host had them sit at the properly distanced table next to us. We sat another 4 min and wanted to order a bottle of wine still had not been greeted by a server. Looking around we began to get frustrated as there were servers everywhere. One started to come towards us and went to the table with the three men, she took their order did a little flirting and walked away NEVER EVEN acknowledging us. Unbeknownced to her or any of the other employees, my husband is retired and has managed and ran Carrabba's (same company as Bone fish) and is familiar with all their protocol. Another 3 min go by and still no one greets us. We get up to leave, walk to the front door and my husband tells the host young man...who was very nice when we had first arrived and hostess, short red haired girl (new to us) that we had not been greeted and felt that there was no reason staying. The girl said oh well I though you had just been sat...we said we were about 10 min ago but these gentleman sat after us and have already been greeted and placed drink orders. The girl said well ok have a good evening. Nothing to make it right or apologize, or anything. She was actually very snarky...like oh well who cares. We actually walked out so angry due to the fact that her attitude was so very unprofessional. As a former manager of Carrabba's my husband was furious knowing that that behavior is not part of that companies protocol. We looked nextdoor and saw that the patio at Carrabba's was full and decided to give it a try again...thanks to Bonefish being so bad we had an amazing night at Carrabba's and spent $200 bucks there! Wine aps and food and dessert. Our server there was amazing and we had our bottle of $45 wine within 5 min of being at our table we had our aps same and our food was really good. In this day and age where businesses going under because of covid....loss of customers is costly. Glad we could give the proprietor at Carrabba's our money and our server a...
Read moreA friend & I ate there last week. Both fish entrees, salmon & haddock, were awfully over cooked, the haddock was especially hard & dry & segmented into chunks of small "flakes." The mac n cheese, billed as "extra creamy," was dry and stringy, it was all terrible, the ginger beef pot stickers were boring, the sauce was awful over-strong in soy sauce, but without it, they were dry and blah. It was just all ick. The asparagus might've been ok, I didn't cadge a piece, but the brussel sprouts were also dry and over cooked. The only good, was their kalamata olive pesto they brought out in olive oil for dipping with bread. THAT was very yummy. I ended up putting the last of it over my dry & boring garlic mashed potatoes. And over my sangria salmon, which I definitely wasn't going to pour the crazy sweet simple-syrup orange tinted sauce over. It was scary sweet. Our waiter, Tyler, was a delight, and I happily give him 5 stars. The manager bought our desserts, and they were really good. I had the flourless brownie, quite good, and my friend had the key lime cake. That was quite a lot better than expected, I really love key lime pie, and thought that cake would be dry, it wasn't, and worth a try if you go. Also, through no fault of the establishment, the patio is horribly loud due to traffic, loud enough that you literally can't speak or hear if particularly loud cars or motorcycles roar by, which is frequent. There is more than adequate shade provided, which was...
Read moreMy wife and I enjoyed Happy Hour here a few days ago. Get there by 4pm if possible for a seat at the bar. That’s where we always sit and enjoy chatting with other 'bar folk'. My advice, the most attentive service is usually at the bar if a restaurant has one. We weren’t disappointed. Our 'tender was patient, gracious and informative. We ordered Bang Bang Shrimp and Scallops. The shrimp was served as we had order many times before, beautiful, delicious and a bit spicy. The Scallops, however, had changed from previous visits. Instead of the nice white wine/lemon sauce I always enjoyed, it was presented in a sweet cream sauce. Unlike the previous version with the same name and description, the scallops were slick and difficult to open. Very messy. They paled to the previous version for those reasons. In addition, approximately ⅓ of the scallops had not opened. Our 'tender graciously returned them to the kitchen to be replaced. Unfortunately, several of the replaced scallops had not opened during preparation as well. We’ve enjoyed scallops at Bonefish many times. This is the first time I’ve needed to send food back to any kitchen, twice. Our impression, the front (in our case the bar) has not changed, but something is different, definitely subpar going on in the kitchen. First, a delicious long served staple had changed or was mis-prepared, and more importantly, quality control seems to have slipped. Great restaurants never serve...
