I rated this store 5 stars last year because of the quality of the customer service as well as the food, but after today it's going down to 1 star. We have been loyal customers for over a year and a half and have brought our dog Max with us to sit on the patio every other week when we would eat out here. We have done this since he was an 8 week old puppy and have seen a myriad of other dogs on the patio as well. Max is well behaved, sweet to everyone and always sits under our table while we eat. Today he had the pleasure of being pet by a few other restaurant patrons as they passed by him and complimented him on how well behaved he was. We sat on the patio for about 30 mins waiting on a friend and as soon as she showed up and we went to order, we were very rudely informed that dogs are not allowed on the patio. Had we been treated with respect in this incident, I wouldn't have changed my review and I would have understood and not brought him in the future, but the way the employee hissed at me about their no dog policy was unforgivable. Even the other patrons on the patio commented on his demeanor we left. This is the last time I will ever go to your establishment. You have lost 2 loyal customers. In the future, please use respect and kindness when informing your patrons of policies that aren't posted anywhere and that people generally don't know about. One of the reasons we always came was because we could bring our dog. I guess we'll have to find another spot that has less animosity for...
Read moreThe food can be good at this brand, but I went to this location at lunch time on a weekday and found out, after I had paid, that they were out of all 3 of their homemade lemonades, with no signage indicating so. I ordered the smokey chicken bowl, and after waiting about 10 minutes, they paged me to inform me that they had run out of rice and asked if i wanted it on greens or quinoa instead. I honestly sould have just preferred to order something else entirely, as I was hoping for a warm meal and the quinoa was cold. They never deactivated my pager so it remained on and vibrating while they made the change and completed our order. Once I received my order, the chicken was partially sliced and placed on one side of the plate, and the quinoa was placed on the other side. Not a huge deal, but annoying that I had to recut the "already cut" chicken etc. The quinoa had many "clumps" in it and the substitution they made apparently changed what toppings/sauce went on top which they didn't inform me of either. I do not have dietary restrictions, so it was okay for me, but that could have been a pretty bad experience for someone else. I can deal with all of this, but i feel like this is unreasonable behavior for the price you pay at Modern Market. Running out of rice at the peak of lunch time on a Monday is very odd, given that it is the base of almost all of their bowls. Very disappointing...
Read moreThis review pertains to Modern Market's Catering Services: My company has ordered catering from Modern Market at least 15 times over the last year and they have to be the worst catering company in timeliness that we have ever dealt with. We will no longer be ordering from them. Regardless of my detailed notes in the order, they are constantly either way early with the food (so it just sits there and gets either cold or warm depending on the type of food until our meetings let out), or they are an hour or more late!..... On one occasion, we had to send our group to an offsite restaurant because Modern Market was so late with the food we ordered. This is completely unacceptable. We are a good paying customer with a lot of business for them, however it seems our direct complaints to Modern Market Catering on numerous occasions means nothing, therefore they will no longer be receiving business from us. A good reputable catering company at the very least should DELIVER ON DEMAND!.... not too far before it's needed and certainly not after! The only good experience we have had with Modern Market Catering is that they do have good food, but it's not worth it if you can't eat it the way it was intended...
