Chipotle Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Lakewood

We love chipotle! However tonight we went in and it was late like 10:12! Everything was great, service was fast, food looked good, place was clean, but my husband noticed they were all kids working really late and hard on a Saturday night and he appreciates that so he counted the workers and left a $27 tip so that each worked could get at least $5! We were at the drinking fountain and one of their back employees approached my husband and I and was like hey you guys took their tip money? And we were really confused as we just gave a big tip and was like no, we tipped them, and actually really good. Well the guy kind of stepped up to my husband and I was like wait so I walked around the corner and was like hey what is he talking about we tipped you guys not took the money and the girl behind the register pulled out the twenty and was like ya sorry! The guy was like so they didn’t take your money and the kids were like no and he was like well it’s a good thing! Like okay if it’s a misunderstanding I get it but you could have at least apologized for coming at us all crazy and say thank you for probably giving them the biggest tip they got all night! This review is based solely on this location I seriously loathe this location. Every time I have come here, it has been such a disappointment. One time I came here with friends and got food to go and my friend had a piece of raw chicken in her bowl (see image). Another time I came here, they gave like 4 (okay MAYBE 9) pieces of chicken in a single scoop and I didn’t want to ask for more because I knew I would have been charged for double chicken. And then this time I got here at 7pm, I walked up and both doors were locked while there were like several workers in there who just stared at me as if I was showing up 5 minutes to closing (they close at 10pm, allegedly).

The only consistent thing about this location is how inconsistent it is. The only reason I come here is it’s right next to where I live, but it’s so frustrating and I feel ridiculous leaving a review for chipotle of all places, but just go to a different location should you want Chipotle because this...

We went in on a Friday night at 8 p.m., which I know is busier than most nights for restaurants, and they were out of queso. They tried to offer me guacamole instead, which was also empty, so I'm not sure how that works. Those items also cost extra, so no, I don't want something I didn't ask for if it costs me extra. If they had told me at the start what they didn't have, I probably wouldn't have ordered at all and wasted my money, but they told me once I asked for it, which is fine, but I wanted to say I didn't want the food, but I paid for it. I'm very specific with my food, and one item not being available changes my whole order. So, was it a little my fault? Yes, but they didn't say if they were out of the item altogether or just needed more. I would have waited to get it, but they are trying to get people out fast and aren't communicating with customers. They also didn't give me or offer a receipt, but I paid close to $30 for food I'll barely touch. Very...
