We first came to Eeny Meeny Sushi Roll about three years ago and continued to dine there that same year numerous times. The service and food were exceptional! Amazing stuff, really. However, recently, we decided to revisit after being out of the country for quite some time, and although the food was just the way we remembered it, the service was not. After driving for an hour to dine here, we came in around 9pm, and when we requested the floor seating style we were told that we couldn't sit there because they stop at a certain time (that's understandable I suppose, but we didn't know as we used to come in any time three years ago and it way okay, also the fact we drove an hour to eat there was frustrating. Also, I didn't read that rule anywhere on their website.) Now, at the end of our meal, we paid the bill and decided we would order one more sushi roll as it was that delicious. However, when we do that, the waitress brings our food in a Togo bag. She didn't ask us if we wanted to stay and dine or if we wanted it to go. The whole encounter just seemed very rushed and very unprofessional. So of course we were uncomfortable and left. Once we got to the car we try the sushi roll, and notice that it doesn't taste the same as the roll we had just eaten. Something just seemed off? Not too sure. So we went back inside only to be given an even worse attitude. We explained to the waitress that if we could please just get a new roll with the same price as the one we originally ordered as we didn't like it. She went on to say well I don't know it's the same fish and was being rude. She then asked the back kitchen, but the entire time was speaking in Chinese and being disrespectful which was amusing because although we ourselves aren't Chinese we did live in Guangzhou, China for almost four years and understand it pretty well. That being said, I don't think it's professional for someone to talk smack about their customers in front of them. It's simply rude.. Although the food is wonderful, I'm not so sure we will be coming back. Hopefully, others will have a...
Read moreWe love this place! We thought it might be sketchy or scary as the entrance, and staircase seem as though you’re entering a real life murder mystery evening where one of you might not make it out, but we did make it out alive and ecstatic to find this gem!
The food is so delicious; everything is fresh, made to order, and the variety of options is wonderful.
Our favorites include the chicken lo-mein, the fried rice, Bronco Roll, Spider Roll and the Sushi Burrito. (We’re a family of 6, and these are our go to items whenever we order).
The service is great, efficient and friendly, and you feel well taken care of when you’re there.
The only cons are the staircase is the only entrance so we have to order take out as we have a handicap person in our family who can’t climb stairs and they do not offer an elevator.
The only other issue is the gal who answers the phone has a very soft voice and a very thick accent. It is very difficult to understand her, and more often than not we’ve placed our order to go and have gotten incorrect food due to the communication errors. She is one of the sweetest people you could meet, as she has been our server when we’ve been able to go into the restaurant without the rest of the family. However, we are all often looking at one another confused on what she has said, and all of us have had to have her repeat herself several times, including having to have another server jump in to help on more than one occasion. It seems ridiculous to even have this as a “complaint”, but it’s also frustrating when you think you’re ordering a favorite item and you get something completely different.
The only option to order online is through grub hub so that is not a solution either. It would be great to get an online ordering option for pick up.
Aside from those two minor issues, this place is a favorite of ours and we are so happy to have this restaurant in the neighborhood!
There is also an all you can eat option, too! We’ve not tried this yet though our friends do it at least twice a month...
Read moreI was so excited to try the food from here. It had been recommended a few times and tonight it worked out. I ordered almost $100 worth of sushi and appetizers for me and another person to split. We live about 20 minutes away and the food was going to be ready for pick up in about 25 minutes. We pulled into the parking lot at the same time I got a text message saying the food was ready. We walked up the stairs and walked inside the restaurant which was almost empty. I went up to a lady at the register and said I’m here to pick up for Lindsey. She directed me to the bar where I saw only one big to go bag. But she didn’t hand it to me. Instead she asked to see my name. I was slightly thrown off because I said my name but I showed her my phone with the text message. Apparently that wasn’t good enough so I pulled out my ID. Please tell me why she scanned my ID like I was a 15 year old trying to order alcohol? Once she finally handed me back my ID the other 3 workers standing around her said thank you. I grabbed my food and as I was leaving my friend and I said that was racist. It surely felt that way. Not going there again. I was nice enough to tip them before I picked up my food because I was a server for many years. Enjoy the $100 you received this evening because this black woman will not be giving her money or recommendations to this establishment ever again. In fact, if people mention ordering from here I will share my experience. Be blessed.
3/21/22 An addendum to my previous review because the owner of this page decided to gaslight me. Dear Joey, the statement about asking for a Doordash receipt is a bold-faced lie. How dare you minimize my experience to save face? Not only did you not ask me anything about a Doordash order…not a single server/waiter addressed me directly. You let me hand your server my ID. Nobody said anything therefore proving the awkward situation at hand. I do not accept your apology and I hope people see that gaslighting is the way you handle...
