Ordered a take out order pretty simple. 2 burgers 2 salads. Order was placed at 5:56pm. The confirmation said it would be ready for pickup at 6:14pm. I arrived at 6:10pm and sat in the waiting area out front. At 6:13pm a host came out and told me it would be about 7 more mins. At 6:24pm (10 mins after the order was supposed to be ready) I asked for a manager and a possible discount for my time wasted. "I guess I could do 25% off." The manager then dissappeared into the kitchen. At 6:36pm I left the location since my order canceled for taking so long. Worst experience I have had at any old chicago. Got a whole thread of texts from the Lakewood manager Jessica Rose saying she was going to give VIP experience and show my wife and I a good time to make up for the debacle on the 4th of November. Wow did Jessica fail. As of yet it has been nearly a month and I haven't received my money back $31.14 for the order that was canceled and never received. I have been nothing but respectful and courteous and even a bit helpful in trying to facilitate a good interaction with Jessica Rose. Her feelings on it......I said "It's been nearly a month with no refund and no effort made by Old Chicago in Lakewood, would it be easier to call a corporate # to get this resolved?" Jessica Rose only replied "hear do it." No corporate number and no further contact from her. I will have to contact my bank to cancel their charge since Jessica has lied to me multiple times claiming it would be refunded and a month later still no refund. This is a terrible location with a bunch of untrained children for staff. The service is slow the food is often undercooked. The alcohol is watered down. The property is trashy and unkempt. The bathrooms are filthy not stocked with TP. Truly a sad turn of events. Wife and I used to enjoy coming to OC multiple times a week. I wanted to believe that my wife and I could return to the Lakewood OC and the service they used to offer (just a few months ago the service was noticeably different). We thought that bringing some light to the growing gap in service ....we were wrong. Old Chicago Lakewood is hurting the whole brand with their lack of effort and compassion. The lack of good management would be a start. Get a manager that cares and that does not lie to guests and patrons. I will be doing Old Chicagos job in taking care of myself through this mess as it is obvious OC does not care to fix their mistake. For anyone in Lakewood that wants a good experience with good food EVERY TIME.......go to Fiddlesticks on kipling and jewel. Old Chicago is gonna sink like all the other places that stopped...
Read moreSounds like nothing I’m about to post hasn’t happened already, but I just have to share the experience we just had. My husband and I walked in at 3:50pm. No one was up front seating anyone, so we walked back to the bar and the bartender yelled “it’s open seating”. Okay. So we sit and our waitress comes up and brings menus and gets our drink order. Comes back with drinks, we are ready to order. Got an appetizer and two entrees. Fast-forward 37 minutes. She comes to refill drinks and lets us know “appetizer is coming in just a minute” - no comment about the wait or anything. Fine. Appetizer comes out piping hot. She sets it down, walks away and immediately returns with our entrees and says “I didn’t want your food to get cold”. Obviously someone messed up on the timing because our food was cold before it even got to us. Nice. I had ordered a BBQ burger - medium. Took a couple bites and it was pink. Not like medium rare pink, but like all pink. Honestly, I wasn’t going to say anything, because at this point I just wanted to leave as soon as possible. We were over it. But my husband said something to her and she offered to get me a new burger. Fine. New burger comes out 5 minutes later, delivered by someone else - probably a manager or a lead - but this girl slammed the burger in the table, said “burger” then walked away???? No apology, no questions about the first burger, nothing. Just “burger”. What is happening here?? She also had so much perfume on that I could barely breathe. Which I guess is a personal choice, but typically in food service, they discourage anything that interferes with the “aroma of the food”. Take two bites of the new burger, it’s burnt to a crisp, drenched in so much BBQ sauce that the bottom bun was completely dissolved. Not eating it. Can’t do it. Long story, but we paid $60 for 2.5 hours of our lives gone and I left hungry, as I only took a total of 3 bites of my food. Neither our waitress or the perfume lady apologized ever for our wait time, experience, the food, any of it. My husband and I have both worked in food service/retail most of our lives, and we are pretty darn easy to deal with. I have never sent food back in my life until today. Read moreI’m writing this review I’m Kayla Creese I worked here for my last night tonight. I have 15 years experience serving and managing restaurants and I’m a great server and from the beginning this place is very toxic and how the staff all talk behind each other’s back is too much. Staff also are taking shots and dancing on top the bar like it’s coyote ugly. This place needs a new manager for sure. You lost a good server for mediocre servers that’s for sure because you all don’t communicate and also not letting a server get there own food from the window is different Jessica yells if you do I haven’t seen this anywhere but here. Don’t recommend this place for work or food. I went in today and it was my sons birthday I got a horrible section and for almost 3 hours no one sitting in my section I rolled 2 tubs of silverware so I can be proactive and was told I still had too roll more silverware by the host I said not happening you have other servers that need too do side work as well. I then did the salad bar because no one was communicating what they where doing then I asked too go home sense it was slow and it was my sons birthday I was told we’re you released I said really it’s slow I did 2 tubs of silverware and the salad bar and cleaned my area after I took over because the morning server didn’t so I did and before I left I cleaned my area as well and it’s my sons birthday then I was told I had too do more before I can go so I said I quit you can’t make me do anything if I quit that’s how bad this place is. I learned the menu fast and the beer but because I don’t drink beer according too Jessica I don’t really know beer in order too get better serving areas or take parties. Really I’ve served for years and I’m being limited and barely making anything definitely not worth serving here. Avoid the toxic environment future server’s. 15 years and I got treated like a kid and made less here then anywhere else.
