I breakfasted this morning at the Innsider, the house restaurant at the Holiday Inn Denver Lakewood . A solid offering, hotel breakfasts are never a sure thing, and this one was pretty darn good. There were three of us at table this morning, enjoying three quite different offerings. Dish #1 was the Malted Mini Waffles, served with mixed berries, whipped cream, and warm syrup. The plating was quite attractive and also flavorful. The berries were fresh, the whipped cream rich, and the waffles had that lovely, malty flavor, which can frequently be mysteriously missing in some "malted" waffles. Dish #2 was their Morning Breakfast Burrito. Made with two scrambled eggs, onion, peppers, bacon, crisp potatoes, and shredded cheese. It was served with both red and green salsa and was delicious enough to be consumed in mere moments (it seemed). I am providing a close-up to show the nicely balanced mix of ingredients. The final dish on the table was the Breakfast Bowl, containing scrambled eggs, cheddar jack cheese, and one's choice of meat (the usual brekkie trio of either bacon, ham or sausage). This was my dish, and I chose sausage. It was yummy, comforting, and filling, yet only contributing 425 calories to the daily total. I quite commonly enjoy (and review) the big skillet/shipwreck or luxurious omelet, but during this action-packed foray into the mountains, the lighter breakfast served me well. It was by no means skimpy. The bowl was ample, and as it turns out, it powered me thru a day in which lunch didn't happen until 4:30. The restaurant itself was clean and well run and possessed a full bar. It is also located directly in the hotel itself, which is a blessing to the weary traveler. I often choose not to eat at the house restaurant, desiring somewhere a bit more adventuresome to dine, but I enjoyed my experience at the Innsider and would recommend it for guests weary or otherwise. @RickiGoesOut

A nice little restaurant and bar attached to the Holiday Inn. I stayed in the hotel for 7 days, so I visited quite a few times. For breakfast: They had a skillet scramble dish that was quite good. On another visit I asked for sausage gravy to be added which made it even better! The service was excellent! For supper: I had the garden penne with chicken. This was quite good as well. Would certainly recommend. I had a Jack and Coke as well at the bar. Service for supper was great as well. All in all, this restaurant actually did surprise me with how good the food was! I would certainly recommend stopping by if you're in the area, and most certainly if you're staying at the hotel.

Loved it. Stayed at the holiday Inn 3 nights and ate breakfast 3 mornings. Almost didn't the 1st day which would have been a mistake. Really nice staff and food. My mom and I both enjoyed the breakfast, coffee, and pleasant attitudes of the employees. Took amtrak to Denver from sacramento and wigh their despicable $20 breakfast, $25 lunch and brace yourself $45 DINNERS with only 3 options. Amtrak had old French toast, not even fresh. Now the IINSIDER was fresh and awesome. No need to stay at hotel you can just go right in. Great pancakes, chicken fried steak, omelets, potatoes, coffee ect.

Food was really good. I have ordered and eaten the kids grilled cheese for several years when I stayed at the holiday inn. Now have moved to the area and called to order the kids grilled cheese. The gal who later identified herself as the manager charged me for a double the price as the kids meal that included the drink. I asked and she said I didn’t order the kids meal. I 100% said kids meal. I even asked if I could get with fries because it normally comes with fruit. As well as ordered my drink. I have ordered and seen this meal at least a dozen times. That is exactly what I got. She started to take my food to kitchen and I told her no. I didn’t want it going back. She again said she 100% never makes a mistake and walked away. 1 - she heard wrong and should have verified if confused. 2 - could have given me total on phone and I could have questioned it then. 3 - the only grilled cheese on the menu is on kids meal. 4 - she was very rude and walked away. 5 - told me on the phone later that the kids meal is much smaller (it is a grilled cheese how much smaller can it be and I have received this before it is exactly the size I received) 6 - I would have gladly added a tip for her which now I didn’t since my food was double in price. 7 - her response that “adults” order this all the time not on the kids menu again means nothing to me. 8 - there is no age restriction on the online menu to order a kids meal so I was not worried and I have again ordered many many times in past visits. 9 - now upset that I can not order again because of her rude attitude. 10 - finally I was able to get that there is a manager over her that comes in later. I realize this might be silly and it is disappointing when they make an awesome grilled cheese. But I expected to spent 4.89 and Tax and it was 10.92. Double. So if you order. Reconfirm and ask for...

Visited while on a business trip. I was at the hotel for several meals and tasted quite a bit off of the menu. I enjoyed their breakfast that comes with eggs, toast, hash browns, & meat choice (I got bacon) I ate this 2 mornings. I loved the chicken fried steak off of their specials menu. I also loved the chicken strips & pub chips (on appetizer menu but for someone who eats small portions it really is a meal). The chicken fried steak and chicken tenders were my 2 favorite dinners. I also liked their turkey club with avocado off of their specials menu. I also tried their mini waffles, which tasted great but didn't come with many berries. The only thing that wasn't great was their burger, which looked pretty but was flavorless. Also, not a huge fan of their broccoli, asked for it to be very well cooked and still was practically raw broccoli. I like my vegetables very well cooked. My server did give me a discount on this meal, though, since it wasn't cooked the way...
