If you enjoy being treated like an outsider at a so-called “neighborhood bar,” then by all means, give this place a try. Otherwise, steer clear. Tonight marked the third—and final—time we tolerated the unbelievably rude owner. Three strikes, and we’re done. This place masquerades as a welcoming Steelers bar, and at first glance, the bartenders seem friendly —probably because they know most of the customers by name, even ours, but apparently not enough visits. But make no mistake: if you’re not a regular in their little clique, you might as well be invisible. The final straw? We wanted to buy a square for their Super Bowl pool. The sheet was being passed around, no restrictions mentioned, so we asked to purchase an AFC square. Simple, right? Wrong. The bartenders scurried off and came back with an absurd excuse: “You don’t come here enough to buy a square.” Seriously? This is a bar, not some exclusive social club. Ok, weirdos. Later.
And let’s be real—the place is nothing special. The owner is an egotistical jerk, the food is sub par, and the crowd? Well, let’s just say if you’re looking for a lively, fun atmosphere, this isn’t it. Unless you have a thing for geriatric regulars sipping on bland soup while gatekeeping a Super Bowl pool, save your money and go somewhere that actually appreciates paying...
Read moreReview of Rusty Bucket- . Place of business was exceptionally clean and not busy. The cook had great skills and has worked for the Rusty Bucket 29 years.
Rusty Bucket serves fresh ingredient bar food.
Main dish- The only thing lacking on burgers was a little finishing salt and/or butter fried buns. (Personal preference) There was a .75 charge for American cheese. Quite possibly the best French fries I’ve eaten. Clean oil in fryers! 👍🏻 Appetizers- Fried Mushrooms were the gem of our meal. Great portion to share. The taste of the Rocky Mountain oysters was on point, but value in basket for $12 was disappointing. It comes with French fries…could be a meal for one. They were delicious. Homemade cocktail sauce was good. There was a charge of .50 for extra ranch. Tea was fresh brewed.
Waitress was friendly attentive and informative on live entertainment on Wednesday and Saturday evenings. Blues music. Would absolutely go back on special occasions.
My mom owned a bar and restaurant years ago, so the extra little charges were odd to me. It was a common courtesy at her establishment. Price of food covered any extras. The little extra charges surprised us looking at the final ticket.
All in all, a solid 4/5...
Read moreI’m upset that the bartender put a $25.00 charge on my credit card without letting me know prior to me authorizing this transaction on my credit card. I was there a few minutes before my best friend and it was my birthday this week so it was waiting for my friend who was meeting to buy me dinner and drinks. I have been to the Rusty bucket more than a handful of times and I’ve never been charged a $25 fee! I woke up this morning and I only had one drink on that card I paid $9.00 dollars for the drink three dollars for the tip and the $25 is still charged on my credit card and nothing about the 9.00 dollar drink!!! I’m livid! At least let people make the decision if they want to buy a drink yet or make the decision if they want to at least pay cash first instead of being charged $25 to hold the credit card which I gave! HOWEVER, at least inform your customers verbally! It is absolutely insane to do that to people without discussing that first! I got some food my friend got a drink but I did not order anything else because it...
