El Sabor De Mi Tierra — Restaurant in Lakewood

The "gorditas" are what this place is known for and they are pretty good. The red salsa is amazing in my opinion, it has an earthy chili type of essence to it, but be warned it is extremely hot. I'd go to this place more often but it seems this place is always full to the brim and the wait for the food exaggerated (30 min for 2 gorditas) on Sunday afternoons when we like to eat out. Maybe because the food is good and inexpensive, hence the crowd, but it seems the table configuration could improve since sometimes there is only one person per table and not enough tables to accommodate everyone who wants to dine in. Excellent food but take the reviews that mention wait time seriously. I did not realize it's essentially a taqueria, so I was prepared to wait for actual dishes etc. But it's only meat + stuff (e.g. tacos, sopes, etc) and menudo so it's not like anything should take long. It's like they can only assemble one thing at a time or something. Like I say the food is great but I have to dock pretty severely as any taqueria should have this kind of food ready in minutes, not an hour. There is a sign even (I noticed this, of course, while waiting) but like I say this is assembled food, not like they are making a fresh pan of meat for each order (or, if they are - which I guess could explain...

Super slow on having my order ready, called it in and they said an hour, got in and they still took over 45 mins to get my order to me. Plusthey didn't have enough change and the lady thought I wasn't going to notice but she shorted me the change without telling me anything. Got home and they didn't put one of my gorditas in and when i called they tried to blame me and said they did put it in. I had tocome back again. Really...
