I have seen their Instagram advertising that they were open and followed them to try it out. We finally got the chance to do so and we went to grab some refreshing drinks. They had samples of their black sesame rice Krispy treat and it was really good, not too sweet and very nostalgic of a classic childhood treat. We just had a meal next door so we didn't need a snack so we'll order that next time. My boyfriend got the ube coffee while I got a summer special drink (can't remember which one) and it was what we were looking for: refreshing and not too sweet.
Now the biggest issue that I came across is when I asked for no ice in my drink, the employee gave me an apologetic smile and said she would try her best. As you see in the picture, it isn't completely full. Now I saw a review that complained about a similar issue and the business owner said that you can just let staff know that you want the cup to be filled and they would do their best to accommodate. Not sure if that is just miscommunication or just something the owner said to seem like they are solving the issue but it seems really unprofessional. I understand that it can alter the drink's intended flavor but I ask for no ice all the time and am always happy with how it turns out. You check my photos of drinks from other places and I always ask for no ice as I have sensitive teeth and I don't like the condensation it causes.
Other than that issue, it's good to see Lakewood have a nice boba and coffee spot. Additionally, they have two crane machines and board games to enjoy too. They are also dog friendly as long as they are well-behaved and don't...
Read moreThis new boba spot is a delightful addition to the scene. The Star Coco Cream is particularly charming—once mixed, it reveals heart-shaped jelly, which is as visually appealing as it is delicious. I also sampled the following: Taro Ube Milk Tea with Brown Sugar Boba: The taro flavor is present and satisfying, but unfortunately, the ube essence is somewhat elusive. Special Milk Tea with Crystal Boba: I prefer the crystal boba over the brown sugar variety, as it offers a unique texture. Wintermelon Milk Tea: This drink is wonderfully fragrant. Honey Milk Tea: Quite flavorful, perhaps a bit too intense, but still enjoyable.
Given that this store is relatively new, it would be helpful to have more detailed descriptions of the drinks. For instance, the Star Coco Cream didn’t resemble the image on the website, and I wasn’t aware it came with toppings—information that could have been useful. A clearer description of the drink's components, such as it being a strawberry and coconut blended drink with lychee jelly and heart-shaped jelly, would have been appreciated. Additionally, I was torn between ordering the Mango Dragon Drink but couldn't determine whether it featured mango and dragon fruit or mango and tajín. A little more transparency would go a long way in enhancing the...

They also have games in which you can come play while staying in the cafe sipping your drinks- games include Guess Who, Janga and Battleship. I think coming here with friends to talk, sip tea and play board games would make for a fun little outing.
I have tried multiple of the teas, my personal favorite is the Okinawa Milk tea or Brown Sugar boba Latte. Both are sweet and deliciously milky in flavor. The boba is soft but has a nice chew to it, it enhances the tea in texture and makes for an enjoyable beverage.
The staff are friendly and do a good job with the beverages and upkeep of store.
I’d recommend this place to anyone who wants delicious boba tea and a...
