This was my first time at the Southern Market and wanted to try out Akhi since there’s no real place around that offers poke bowls. In the bowl is rice buried below a pile of salad, salmon, and kani salad. Though the rice is hidden, there is a heft portion of rice compared to the toppings. I would say maybe more kani salad or salmon could be added to balance it out, but the bowl was still hefty in weight.
The salmon it self was cut quite small and was not too special. If the pieces were slightly bigger, maybe it would of been more enjoyable. But I enjoyed the kani salad in the bowl more than the salmon. The spicy mayo added a nice flavor, as did the tempura with crunchy texture. The bowl was good, but just nothing exceptional. I might go back if I crave a poke bowl since it is one of the only few options, but I might venture towards their other items just to see how the quality is of...

Salmon was not fresh. Looked like chicken. I had to ask for an extra plate etc.
