X Marks The Spot — Restaurant in Lancaster

Disappointed. First time here with hubby and friends. Hubby and one friend ordered chicken, greens and Mac and cheese. I ordered a fried chicken sandwich with a side of Mac and cheese. Took around 10 min. for hubby snd friend to get food. I continued to wait. Our other friend got his food from another vendor and to be kind asked X Marks the Spot about my food and was told they are working on it. We were sitting at a table right in front of the vendor and I kept turning around to see if it was coming. Nothing yet. Now, it’s been around 20 min.

I got up to get water and on my way back to my table, I saw patrons leaving that establishment with fried chicken sandwiches and yet my food was not at my table. I went to the counter and stated that I had not received my sandwich yet. I was told, “We’re working on it,”. Really? Others who came after me were walking away with sandwiches. Five minutes later my food was delivered to me without apology.

The sandwich was good overall. Roll was breaking up but as least chicken tasted juicy and fresh. Did not like the Mac and cheese. Tasted different and I could not eat. Hubby could not his greens and I tasted them. Tasted salty and not flavorful.

Disappointed....

Last Sunday (May 5th) I was given the wrong order however I didn't realize it until I got home (20 minutes away) I called and explained, they were very apologetic and promised to make it up to me by refunding my card and sending me a $25 gift certificate

I honestly thought that was more than generous so I did politely decline refunding my card as I still ate the wrong order because it was absolutely delicious!

Now let's fast forward to today I called when I was on my way in to see if they remembered the situation and that I would be coming in to grab a late lunch.

Not only did they comp my lunch for last week's error but they comped my daughter's lunch as well which they didn't have to do.

I really want this review to stand out because not many places would go above and beyond like this family owned restaurant did. Thank you so much

oh and the food is ridiculously good...

My family an I decided to check this place out for the first time. First impressions were good. Atmosphere was welcoming and the area was very clean. The young lady was kind and kept us up on the fish being cooked. I had the fish Mac and yams an a side of shrimp. First off the shrimp was out of this world nice and flavored and fresh. The fish was awesome. Now my yams were ok just a bit dry for my taste buds. My Mac was also a bit dry but flavored. My husband had baked chicken, collards and rice pilaf. He said the chicken was a bit dry but tasty, he thought the rice was very very good. I tasted his greens, good flavor but reminded me of glory greens because of the small cuts.
