ā ZERO STARS! I placed an order through DoorDash and received confirmation: āLa Cocina Cubana confirmed your order. Weāll let you know when your Dasher is on the way.ā
Shortly after, my DoorDasher called me ā apparently, the owner of the restaurant contacted DoorDash to cancel my order, saying they didn't want me ordering from their restaurant.
Iāve never ordered from this place before ā ever. My order was never officially canceled on DoorDash, so I had to go through customer support just to get a refund.
Absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. I will never spend a dime here, and I strongly suggest others think twice before doing so.
Edit: Called restaurant to see why my driver was told the order was cancelled, when I got out of work. And the owner stated that she canceled the order because DoorDash took a percentage or something. Was hard to understand clearly with her accent, she kept stating something about me using a credit, not sure what she is talking about as I had no prior credits on my account and only use my dash pass that I pay for. So seems like the business has an issue with DoorDash and shouldnāt be on delivery apps if they donāt want to have a cut taken out.
Edit again based on "owner's" reply: The restaurant DID NOT call me to explain. I HAD TO CALL.
I strongly advise against ordering from this restaurant through delivery appsāespecially if youāre using credits, discounts, or have a DashPass subscription. After personally speaking with the owner (who was notably unfriendly over the phone), Iāve made the decision not to support this business any further.

This looked like an authentic Cuban restaurant and we were excited to give it a try.
To start they bring to the table 5 mini slices of toast. The Cuban restaurant we ate at in Miami served a bread stick basket and Iām sure people would prefer that instead.
Both my wife and I got the Cubano sandwich. Her pork in her sandwich was mostly fat and she had to remove it to eat it. I thought the sandwich tasted plain and was very greasy from cooking on a flattop. It didnāt have much flavor so I used the dip sauce they provided to give it some taste. (tastes just like hot sauce and ranch dressing)
It seemed that we were ignored as the other 5 tables had Spanish speaking customers and the waitress seemed to want to talk to them verses occasionally checking on us. After we ordered the waitress didnāt come back until she delivered the food. After both our plates were pushed to the edge of the table she eventually came back and gave me the credit card device and left.
I used the device, paid and tipped and she never came back because she was involved in a friendly conversation with another table. We decided to leave after waiting for our receipt printout. As I walked by the waitress I raised the credit card device in front of her face then sat it down on the register as we walked out.
Very disappointed as I was hoping to find a nice spot downtown with some authentic food. The atmosphere was good and the place seemed clean but need better food and service to become a...
