I recently had the pleasure of experiencing the delightful offerings at Almanzas Mexican Restaurant in Laramie, Wyoming, and I must say, this establishment has truly raised the bar for Mexican cuisine in the region. My visit was not just a feast for the taste buds but a visual and atmospheric delight, thanks in part to my involvement in redesigning their menus and supporting their marketing and advertising endeavors.
Let's start with the heart of any restaurant—the menu. As a designer fortunate to collaborate with Almanzas new owner Amalia, I had the opportunity to craft a new menu that not only captures the essence of their authentic Mexican dishes but also elevates the dining experience. From traditional favorites to inventive culinary creations, the menu is a visual masterpiece that piques the curiosity and appetite of every patron. The addition of a revamped drinks menu further complements the dining experience, offering an array of refreshing beverages that perfectly pair with the bold flavors of their cuisine.
Almanzas Mexican Restaurant has not only mastered the art of crafting delicious dishes but has also recognized the importance of a strong brand presence. I had the privilege of assisting them with their marketing and advertising needs, and the results are evident. Their online presence is vibrant and engaging, providing a sneak peek into the culinary delights that await visitors. From social media campaigns to community outreach, Almanzas has successfully established itself as a welcoming haven for both locals and visitors alike.
Stepping into Almanzas is like entering a warm and vibrant atmosphere, coupled with the friendly and attentive staff, creates a welcoming environment that enhances the overall dining experience. The commitment to creating a space that celebrates not just the food but the rich cultural heritage is truly commendable.
Whether you're a Laramie local or passing through Wyoming, Almanzas Mexican Restaurant is a culinary destination worth experiencing. The carefully curated menu, refreshing drink options, and vibrant atmosphere make it a standout choice. Kudos to Almanzas for not only satisfying taste buds but also for creating a memorable dining experience that goes beyond expectations. I look forward to my next visit to savor the flavors of Mexico right...
Read moreThis was my first visit to here, and I was excited to finally get the chance. I really like the interior and the vibe, and it was far larger than I had thought. I went with friends of mine who are repeat customers. The tortilla chips were hot, and fresh from the fryer, which I liked and appreciated! they have a salsa bar, where you can help yourself to various condiments and differing types of salsa/pico for your meals and chips. Very nice selection. Everything was fresh, spicy, and yummy here. The prices are great, and I was very happy with the portion size. Our food came out quick and hot, but my chimichanga tortilla was raw/undercooked on the inside, something I didn't realize until I had actually eaten to the center, lol. The shredded beef I asked for was tasty, but served inside the chimi with red enchilada sauce, which I found to be a bit off putting. I would have just liked the meat, and let me add any sauces to it etc. The refried beans were delicious, and the rice quite good. The service was horrendous though, and we were but one of maybe 3 tables. It took forever to get our orders, to be recognized, and our beverages. Two of our 4 had no silverware. We actually had to get up to go to the register to pay, as we never got our check, and we were clearly done. We had waited a ;long time to be given our check. The young man assisting us off and on was not very friendly, and obviously pained, as the waitress was not present or avoiding customers. Not sure what that dynamic was about. Overall, I was happy with the meal, and definitely will go back. I may just order takeout though, and I will definitely check the doneness of my chimi /burrito. They do offer breakfast, and have great hours. I would definitely give...
Read moreI don't like to leave negative reviews of new businesses, but this isn't my cup of tea.
The food was hot, salty, spicy, and filling- so if that's what you're looking for, you're probably going to walk away happy. I don't think the food was bad to eat, it was just... Fine.
We had a carne asada plate and a chile relleno burrito. The carne asada was chopped like it would be for a burrito, and fried on a griddle, instead of being the grill-seared, garlicky, thin-pounded steak that embodies the namesake of that food. The refried beans and rice taste mostly like salt. The chile relleno wasn't very filled, and had just a stingy bit of gooey cheese; most of the burrito filling was rice and beans. And there was a superfluous amount of breading around the relleno. The hot sauces were good, and very spicy. The horchata was good, and very sweet.
I think if you were leaving the bar, hungry and cold and wanting a pick-me-up, this place would hit the spot. But if you were looking for a date night or you had friends in town, you would be better off finding another...
