Danny's Restaurant — Restaurant in Laredo

Wow this place has good food! I rented a room at the motel 6 studios next door to this restaurant.  And I arrived  about an hour early for check in. Since I had an hour to kill, I decided to go have lunch at Danny's. The atmosphere here is definitely  family. I walked in and was told to sit anywhere. I ordered the chilaquiles suizos, And a glass of water. I received chips and salsa and then a few minutes later.My order arrived at the table. I received three chicken enchiladas in green sauce with refried.Beans and spanish rice. I thought I ordered chilaquiles? I was so hungry and the food looks so good that ate about a third of it before.I remembered that this is doesn't look like what I thought I was ordering.  And I also forgot to take a picture of my plate. The green chili enchiladas were delicious, and I wish I had ordered an egg to go with them. I finished the plate and most of the chips in salsa. When I went to pay, my total was just a little $4.25! Apparently, the green chili enchiladas were on sale, the day that I walked in the doors for $3.99. The food was so good. I left a $10 tip. The next morning I ordered breakfast to go from danny's. I ordered the special breakfast pancakes with strawberries and side of hash browns. And a brewed coffee. This order took a little longer to prepare. Everything tasted good but I do have a complaint. The strawberries that I paid an additional charge for, was just strawberry jam. And the pancakes weren't hot enough to melt the butter. Although I didn't use the strawberry jam, I did eat everything else. I would recommend you stop in if you're in the area. The food is very good. But i'm not sure if they have a liquor license here. For nearly South of the Border, Danny's is your go-to place in Laredo! Been a rather long time since I have been there, but dang, I sure miss it for sure, and this pic really got my taste buds acting up!

My favorite waitress was Silvia, and the last time I was there, she was still working there, still giving good service with a smile! If you are ever in the Laredo area, stop in and get some Steak Tampico, and ask for Silvia. Who knows, maybe she is still there...

The Steak Tampico was my favorite meal here, as I got a Steak of course, a Taco, and a Cheese Enchilada. The Salsa is Amazing, but the chips can be a bit hard at times for me, but, still wonderful!

I just wish I could get to Laredo so I could go to Danny's at least one more time! It really was one of my favorite cities to visit, as I am such a foody!

First time customer. The food was great. The staff friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was very pleasant. I will be returning for sure.. UPDATE. My wife and I are staying in a local hotel and we walked there for the aforementioned meal. Later that same night she got a craving for something on the menu and called to order it for pickup. They happily took the order. She walked over, about a 3 minute walk. When she got there one of the guys inside locked the door in her face. She said that she's placed an order for pickup. The guy said they were closed. She could clearly see people seated inside eating. The bouncer from Silverados next door told my awife they were open and even tried to open the door for her. He was surprised that the guy inside kept saying they were closed. I should mention here that my wife is black. I'm white. This was clearly a race thing.
