My husband and I went there for breakfast and left the restaurant feeling very dissatisfied and in disbelief with the poor quality of service and food. We got there at around 9 in the morning...no customers around other than us and there were only two of us the entire time---from the time we arrived to the time we left. They did not even offer coffee or anything to drink.
First off, we ordered what they called "Da-Long-Tocilog Combo." The Filipinos know what "Da" stands for, right? So, it stands to say that it should come with Daing (FRIED FISH) as they described on the menu. Well, it didn't and when the order came which took forever, I asked about the daing, to which the owner-server nonchalantly replied, "wala eh." So the daing did not come. I was fuming that they did not come to me ahead of time to notify me that there was no daing as that was the only reason why I ordered that dish----FOR THE DAING! And worse....they did not even make any attempt to substitute the daing with anything! I just forgot to ask my husband if we were charged the usual price when an item on the menu was missing!
Begrudgingly, I ate my food. And to my dismay, the eggs were not fried---they were MICROWAVED! REALLY? How hard is it to fry 3 eggs that they had to be microwaved? Or perhaps they wanted to keep the eggs in perfect round shape which they were---except that the yolk and the whites were so hard. I have microwaved eggs before when I was in a hurry to get to work so I know how they come out microwaved. And I have been frying eggs forever, so I know too, how they SHOULD COME OUT! And what they call the garlic fried rice.... I could not taste the garlic on their fried rice...all I could taste was the soy sauce. Yes, it was loaded with so much soy sauce. Had I known it, I would have ordered just plain, white rice and put soy sauce on it myself.
I am not writing this review to try and put them out of business. On the contrary I want them to stay in business because there isn't a lot of Filipino restaurants in this county. In fact, there are only two left. But, if they want their customers to keep coming, they need to get their act together. And they can perhaps start by dining out to study the American customer service and learn that when something on the menu is not available, come to the customer and notify him/her!!!! That is the first order of business. And second, NEVER MICROWAVE AN EGG! Third, if you are in a restaurant business, you offer coffee for breakfast or something to drink! That's what we do in a Filipino household in the first place. Why is it hard to generalize it in...
Read moreI was always going here whenever i crave for Filipino food because this WAS the only Filipino restaurant i know around my area. However, I stopped going here. The owner is nice, but the grandma needs to retire or be re-train for ATLEAST BASIC customer service.
I thought since im becoming their regular customer she'll make me feel more comfortable at the house, but nope. She doesn't smile. She have never offered me something to drink ever since but never really cared, until one day, i was asking about the menu, i don't even have a clear answer from her yet, but she told me, "go decide what you want" and left. I ignored her rudeness that time, but my next(and the last) visit after that. She just really made me feel very unwelcome and like i was a burden that i was there. It's not like she's not getting tips. So i just decided to stop going here.
The food, is okay, but nothing like will make me say "wow". I like thier garlic rice. Their filipino bbq stick is not the real one. It was kinda gross. I love their bread stuff. Their grocery price is cheaper than the other filipino store.
I hope this place will realize that " A quality customer service always beats a quality food". The only thing is they dont even...
Read moreFIRST OF ALL...REGARDING LUZs comment. That is SO arrogant as to break down HOW they prepare the food for you such as how they prepare their eggs. It has been a LONG time since I have had a taste of true Filipino food and for someone how has NO IDEA how to cook I could not pick out HOW they prepared their food and I LOVED every dish that was brought to me because of it.
This is a traditional Filipino restaurant. It is highly unfair to write a review and compare it to an American restaurant. Go for the experience!!!! Do not go expecting to compare how their service with traditional American restaurant service. If you want American service then go to an American restaurant! If you want a Filipino experience with some great food then you will love this place. If you are open minded then you will enjoy the Filipino experience.
This Filipino restaurant reminds me of a traditional Filipino family diner setting. The food was GREAT and there was ALOT of it. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! and unless you are a chef and like to break down TINY details of their cooking please DISREGARD LUZs. Comment. This was a...
