On our Saturday afternoon, we decided to eat authentic Puerto Rican food and we have been to this resturant a few times, but this timeâŠthey failed.
Sadly they have changed their products. Itâs not authentic anymore. You can tell mostly everything is bought frozen (Yes, we can tell, Yes there is an aisle in stores of frozen Goya Tostones as well as other foods.) and then selling as âgourmetâ.
There was no flavor whatsoever. It was all bland. This is coming from people who are born AND raised in Puerto Rico who cook their authentic food daily. who know how long it takes to prep and cook their meal. (We shouldâve cooked at home. Since we were running errands we decided to swing by.)
Their pricing does NOT match their food quality.
YES, the concept, idea, location and decor were/are awesome!
This Resturant need people who can manage their restaurant better. Wait time, dress code (not just a t-shirt and jeans), customer service etiquette on phone and in person.
Previously, we had dropped by to request information and a quote for catering services for a future Sweet 16. Gave all the details, contact information did not receive a call back. Decided to call two days later because I thought it was enough time and the person who picked up my call took my information to pass the message I was never called back.
Called them a week later and no one knew anything about my request nor was the person in, I decided to book another catering service. After 3 weeks they decided to call me.
A restaurant needs employees and management that can handle every situation or at least be prepared for anything.
Also noticed here on Google review whom ever is in charge of reading and responding doesnât not have a proper profesional or respectful manner. Google review and yelp is not a tik tok comment section to make a âlaughing matterâ out of it aside with emojis. How unprofessional is that?
Aside of making it noticeable they have been copy and pasting with google translate, which is NOT a problem or issue. Simply edit the responds and not just copy paste.
Hopefully this review helps to improve this resturant.
Reply to response:
There is no need for a client to be in your kitchen to know or recognize fresh food Vs. Frozen products. You have your opinion and I have my opinion. We can agree to disagree.
Professionalism goes along way⊠emojis you would like to scroll down to all the past reviews responds and you will see emojis choices, aside you can see the choice of words to respond to clients. This will also add on being grammatically correct before posting.
If you look over at the past review responses from the restaurant, you can see where it says: â(Translated by Google)â and âOriginal Postâ at the end. I apologize if you think I am making this up, but the proof is there. There is no arguing this point. We can agree to disagree. I will respect your response, but I will stand by mine.
Quoting situation shouldâve been handle from the begging when the cook came out and attended me adding and printing how much the cost would be and verbally telling I will call you tomorrow. (He commitment) Thatâs where things went wrong, every employee should be then trained to use the same time frame and wording when giving information this way a client wonât hold him/her accountable for what was said.
Once again it is ALL about professionalism and training Vs. Just taking orders and serving. This is what also makes a Resturant stand out. Itâs not just about the concept, decor or marketing.
Once again this input is given just like every other review with the Soley purpose for the owner to take inconsideration and make some changes. If itâs not taken that way then sadly whoever takes care of responding reviews does not know how to handle constructive criticism.
Overall professionalism is needed and food needs flavor and...

Iâm giving two stars just because the lady at the bar, she is from Ecuador and it was great, very outgoing, she offer me items from the menu, she was like I said great, but it was the end of her shift and she told if she can closed the ticket because she had to leave(two things either they had to do a cashier change which it makes sense or they didnât have nobody else to work at the bar) I agreed and close the check without even having the food. I had a feeling everything was going to go downhill after. I order a Tripleta sĂĄndwich for me and a cuban sandwich to go. A lady that brought my food which I think it was the manager but I could be wrong, left the food and ask me if I needed anything else, I said no. Then I notice I didnât had any napkins, couldnât find any napkins at the bar, after 10 minutes a guy showed up at the bar for ice and I finally had the chance to ask someone for napkins. Finished the food about 20 minutes later and I still havenât had the order to go with me, I decided to ask one of the waiters for the order and a box to go, she told me the order was almost ready and brought me the to-go box. Twenty minutes went by and I still didnât got the order. In that same period the manager or who I think is the manager turned the lights of the bar off, the restaurant closed at 12 at night and I was there at 8pm. Iâm like okay, Iâm just waiting for my order and I will leave, 10 minutos webt by still didnât have the order, I proceeded to move to the front desk to the same guy that gave me the napkins, very helpful guy, and ask for yhe order, at the beginning he couldnât find it, after going to the kitchen and back he still couldnât find the order, he proceeded and asked the lady I think is the manager and she knew where the order was sitting. Total time was almost two hours for two sandwiches and...
