Several items are extremely tasty (eg cannoli), some unfortunately, not as much (eg chocolate cake). For example, I love the flavor, texture of their flowerless chocolate torte; their chocolate ganache (in any of their cake creations, lol) is scrumptious to eat out; cannoli is a wonderful balance of crunchy cannoli shell, creamy tasty filling; I've had a few other flavorful, tasty items! Their chocolate cake (used in a range of their cakes), unfortunately I found to be very dry and not of good flavor; that makes several items that use it (I've had a variety of slices of different cakes and cupcakes), not enjoyable, except for the ganache, toppings and frosting. I value a moist, tasty chocolate cake that complements the toppings, and thats not what I've found here. Customer service is kind, upbeat and courteous, just careful of suggestions. My experience, at least once, was suggestions that seemed based on what they were desiring to sell or get off the shelf (they had several types of cake slices with fresh fruit topping, it was close to the end of day and many still left, and that was what was suggested to purchase), instead of honest and engaging customer service, asking what kind of flavors are of interest, getting a sense of what customer is looking for, and suggesting things you like relevant to the customer. I have a few bakeries and pastry shops I love in town. and although I don't enjoy the chocolate cake here, they have several other tasty items that I do...

This cake was almost perfect! I chose this cake because of the color and design. Just added a few more touches so that it would perfectly match the birthday theme, butterflies and purple. I decided to upsize the cake to 10” cuz I read one of the reviews that said it was rather relatively small so I ordered a bigger one. And to my surprise, it came huge and a bit heavy! I think it was more than 10” round and it’s a tall cake! Not that I’m complaining but I really didn’t expect it! I ordered almond cake with Bavarian flavor filling, but it tasted more like vanilla. My kids were saying it has some hint of root beer which explains the minty, creamy-vanilla like taste. Bavarian for me, also has vanilla but more on custard flavor. I maybe wrong but this has been my favorite filling since I was a kid especially with doughnuts so I am pretty much familiar with it. And oh, I think you forgot some pearls on the cake cuz the pic on the website has them. Everyone there is super kind. I was trying to decide what kind of cake I wanted as I was having a day. I asked her between the fudge cake and the German chocolate which one was richer or sweeter and she said the fudge cake. She did say that the German chocolate was more popular and that is what I was initially leaning towards. I should have followed my gut when she stated to allow it to sit for 5 to 10 minutes at room temperature as the frosting can get a little bit more firm. Well initially she said hard but then she said well not hard and corrected herself. I let it sit for about 20 minutes. I felt like I was eating cheap grocery store frosting on a cake. But honestly I feel like grocery brand would have been better. What a disappointment! I have a family coming in from Europe and I was planning on getting a bunch of slices but probably not...
