My daughter has been in an IHOP craze lately, which I'm ok with since I enjoy visiting the IHOP franchise from time to time - as long as it's not often in between visits (6 months or longer is sufficient). We've had IHOP recently at a different Las Vegas location; however, on 10 Jan 2025, my daughter wanted IHOP again, even though it's only been 14 days since our last visit. But since this was yet another opportunity to spend quality Dad-Daughter time before she went back to her University, I wasn't going to say no. The funny thing about this IHOP is, it was 8 years ago that my family and I last visited this IHOP location - so it's been a minute.
When we walked in, I was met with a sense of nostalgia because of our frequent visits in the past. The place wasn't busy at all so we were able to get seated right away. The one thing that I'll miss about IHOP was how they placed all their different flavored syrup on the tables. I understand why this has changed, but I sure do miss that concept - it's probably better (more clean/safe) this way. Our primary server, Jahaziel, did a remarkable job that day; he was very attentive, friendly, and professional - definitely good qualities in a restaurant server.
We ordered the Veggie Egg White Omelette w/the Original Buttermilk Pancakes and side of Ham, Bacon, and Hashbrowns; and the Chicken Biscuit Sandwich w/Strawberry Banana Pancakes (instead of fries). What's interesting about my order is that I ordered the exact same thing as I did from my previous visit 14 days ago. The food quality was the same (excellent), though I was disappointed with the food presentation of my Omelette - it looked like they just threw it on the plate. Not to mention, it was all on one side of the plate when it was sitting in front of me. I'm not an extreme food critic or a culinary snob (and I understand this is just IHOP), but you still have to have a sense of pride in your craft, especially in the food/restaurant business. Nonetheless, it was all going down to my stomach so after my plate was empty, I basically forgot about it until now (while writing this review). Everything tasted magnificent and my daughter was happy, therefore, that made me happy as well.
I feel that the prices have always been adequate at IHOP. I noticed that the prices have increased since my previous visit, which was expected since it's been years since my last visit here. But even though I'm not a fan of it, I also understand the need to raise prices based on the economy. I've always respected this franchise for their unparalleled (and continuous) support to the active men and women of the Armed Forces, including its Veterans - thank you for that! I definitely enjoyed my time here and it was even better that I could spend it with my daughter. I highly recommend this restaurant...
Read moreOct 2023 Update: Unfortunately years later from my original review I still feel they are a 3 Star at best. I called ahead to make sure my order was ready this time. They assured me that it was. After 10mins of waiting, they finally told me they lost my order. I waited while they remade it. While I did I overheard them talking to a delivery driver. Apparently they gave their order to a different person before the driver arrived.
Update to the original review: Although the service was better, IHOPs staff is still very slow and does not seem like they care much. Having said that the service is better than it was before. For this reason I am changing my rating from 1 star to 3 stars. Hopefully the management will continue to train their staff to get them back up to the restaurant standard before the pandemic closure
Origional review: The hostess does not know what she is doing. She cannot handle to go orders, deliveries and people who either are placing reservations or coming in from them. I scheduled a reservation for myself and two girls almost 2hrs out. I was on hold for over 10mins and had to call back to place the reservation. When we arrived 5mins early we had to wait almost 20mins for her to "figure things out." She irritated a lot of delivery drivers in the process and several others with reservations walked off after dealing with her. . .
I understand that times are tough and people are being asked to do more because of the restrictions. However, management needs to realize the loss of business she us creating because of her frustrating customers.
My recommendation after 3 times of visiting with reservations would be to avoid this location at all costs until the govenor allows us to go back to normal. Their staff is not capable of handling the current restrictions and their management is not willing to make the necessary corrections.
It's a shame because my girls prefer their pancakes over Dennys but Dennys can seat me in 15mins and get us completely thru breakfast (while entertaining my daughters) in...
