L&L Hawaiian Barbecue — Restaurant in Las Vegas

I could tell you a story, but I’ll try to keep this brief. Truly just disappointed by how my wife and two year old child were treated this evening. We came in and placed our order around 8:12pm. My car was charging across the street and I needed to pick a few things up. So I ate and went to go grab some stuff for our kid while they finished their meals. Mobilizing a toddler during a road trip isn’t easy, and I knew I’d be back before they closed. My wife calls me at 8:45(15 minutes after I left) saying they’re being kicked out of the restaurant. Place says it closes at 9pm. I arrived at 8:50pm to see the middle aged female employee closing the door and my wife and toddler standing on the curb. The employee might have saved 2 minutes, but was willing to leave a woman and child in a compromised position. Truly unbelievable. But judging from the reviews, this seems to be the culture here. We all have stuff to do and lives to live, but dang, that’s just plain rude. Food was solid, but the character here does not align with the ethos of good spirited...

This is our 2nd time coming to an L&L. I wanted to give it a 2nd chance because I didn't have a good experience the 1st time.

The staff was polite. The prices were pretty crazy high..

We ordered: • Spam Saimin ($7) -little mushy, broth has no tatse..we had to add shoyu; wish the spam was cut instead of just being one big thick piece. The amount was decent...but not worth the $7

•Chicken Katsu musubi ($3)- the nori was tough to bite thru..but the katsu was crispy and surprisingly good. But the piece was a little small..

▪︎Portuguese Sausage musubi ($3)-small and the flavor was strange - I couldn't describe it. The nori was tough.

▪︎Gravy Fries ($7)- I expected a lot more..no flavor to the gravy. The fries were fine.

I wish I had a better experience as this is an old staple restaurant that we used to go to in Hawaii and right now the tastes and flavors are going downhill in my opinion. Again this is just my experience. ( I should have taken pictures..but I...

Worst L & L experience ever! I've been to numerous L & L's and generally the service is pretty good, just not at this location. Ordered a bbq mix over the phone and when I went to pick up my order, found out that they had screwed up my order and made a bbq chicken plate instead. No big deal, I figured they would make now make my correct order, WRONG. Was told that they were closing and they couldn't prepare my order. They close at 9 pm I was there at 8:38 pm! I then asked if they could comp me a beverage at least since they screwed up my order and was willing to pay for the bbq chicken anyways. NOPE, cashier refused to comp me a drink even though he screwed up my order and refused to make it right. Paid for the damn meal anyways because I was hungry :-( Will not return to this...
