I'm shocked at how unprofessional and dismissive my experience was. Having been a food service professional for over 30 years I learned a few things about the restaurant business. The most important was that when you are open to serve guests telling them the kitchen is closed is tantamount to saying the restaurant caes nothing about service.
When my girlfriend and I were placing our order at 9:15 this evening for two bowls of half fried rice and half super greens with our entrees, we were told the super greens were not available and the kitchen was closed. Given that the posted closing time was 9:30 and there were 4 other people preparing food orders I was quite taken aback. Add to that the limited menu selections due to the quarantine and it took me a minute to process this information.
I requested to speak to the manager and was told that they had left for the evening and instructed the staff to close early if business was slow. Understanding the strict guidelines that national franchises are beholden to this information was unbelievable.
I'm aware that a single customer has no impact on a multi unit national chain. However, as a consumer with myriad choices in dining options, I will most definitely not patronize this specific location of Panda Express again.
We stepped just across the way to Wing Nutz, were greeted warmly, presented with a full and available menu, were treated as appreciated diners, and spent our discerning...
Read moreThe food was what I'd expect so that's the only reason I can give this place 2 stars. Crystal royally screwed up several times. There was a 6 minute wait for us to get the streamed veggies and string bean chicken. No problem, we can wait. Well after waiting they put the wrong food in my container. I was supposed to have half white rice and half veggies. They gave me all veggies. When we went up to correct them (since they had us pay before they finished making our plates) they took some of those veggies and put them back in the pan. Those veggies had been in a container with broccoli beef. So if you're a vegetarian or allergic to beef and get the veggies there today you could have veggies tainted with beef! Then she put a scoop of fried and not white rice in the container. Guess what she did when we corrected her, yup, scooped it back out and into the fried rice pan! So that whole pan of fried rice is now tainted by the beef and broccoli too! Finally got the white rice in a separate container but we had to go back up and ask for soy sauce since we were never asked if we wanted it and again to ask for fortune cookies she never gave us. I'd skip this one and try another. Especially if you have dietary restrictions because the way they handle the food might...
Read morePretty sure when you go to Panda Express you know what you're getting & the quality... taste... and variety are all the same across the board. Why is that you ask... Not due to some high corporate standards... nope... it's due to all the food being pre-made shipped in and only needs to be warmed up... there is no authentic cooking going on there! But nevertheless Panda is tasty... we all love it! My meal was just what I expected... The same old taste... same old selection and the same old over cabbaged noodles I keep going back for! lol. Unfortunately they keep making their portions smaller & smaller for the same price... quite disappointing... The only real difference by location is the service. The service I received in this location ran about a 6 out of 10... not terrible.... but far from outstanding... about what you would expect from fast food! Go ahead...
