OMG -- this is the last time I'll go to any Panera. I'm very tired of making accommodations and excuses for substandard experiences. I ordered in their app at 5:34 pm and asked for it to be ready at 5:50 pm instead of the 5-10 minute that was the default offered. I arrived to the drive through at 5:58 so I was a little late, but I was coming from across town. Just agree with me that they had more time than the app confirmed was necessary for my order. I was behind a customer who apparently ordered a drink at the drive thru but they picked that up immediately and I pulled up to the window to get my stuff. I was handed my drink and brownie -- the female associate said it would be a minute and the food part ise the order would be right up.
For reference, I ordered two different salad and sandwich Pick 2 items. No special customizations. Just what they were designed to be.
20 minutes later I'm still sitting at the window and I can see people avoiding interacting with me. I honked a few times and then got irritated so I drove around to the drive thru order board again and asked where my order was. The same female associate informed me that I had arrived too early and they had until 6:50 to prepare the food. I told her that, no, the time due was 5:50 not 6:50 and that I wanted to speak with a manager. She said "oh" about the time and I didn't wait to hear what she would say about the manager... I went around to the window again and sat for another 5 minutes.
A male associate brought the order to the window and said something kind of flippant about having to wait because food is prepared in the order received. I told him that my order had been there since 5:34 and he just went on yammering about food being prepared in the order received. I argued that past 6:20 pm there was no way people who ordered long after me hadn't already gotten their food.
I said I ordered through the app and that is even given a later time than I could have and asked to pick it up in the drive thru. He said that he never uses the app and then "well, you should have come in". That should make no difference because the order is the order and he said well it depends on what the people order in the drive thru when they're in front of you. I hate being argued with when the argument offered is nonsense. The person in front of me ordered a drink, got it and left. There, in effect, was no one in front of me.
He just kept saying that food was always prepared in time stamp order as the orders were received. That's just BS. I knew it and he knew it. I told him I wanted to speak to the manager and he ignored my request.
I told him this would be the last time I would spend my hard earned money in a Panera, that I had placed the order on this location because the newer one that's located slightly closer to me is regularly out of ingredients and had shown no signs of improvement each time I had given them another try. He said he was sorry I felt that way.
Not going back. Want to like them but just can't...
Read moreThere were three of us in our party, including my wife and daughter. I ordered my favorite sandwich which was the Mediterranean Veggie sandwich. I ordered the full sandwich instead of the half-sandwich and cup of soup. I also ordered a large bowl of French onion soup. Included with the meal was two bags of chips, one for the sandwich and one for the soup. I also ordered a cola drink. A free refill drink is available but a new cup is required. The Mediterranean sandwich was very tasty and the French onion soup was delicious. An employee brought the trays of food to the table and cleaned off the table as we finished eating items during our meal. He came back several times while we were eating. He was very friendly and the service was excellent. My daughter ordered a carryout meal to take home to her husband, who was still at work. The only thing we missed at this location in comparison with several other Panera Bread locations was that there was only a small counter available to buy a variety of bread and other pastries to take home. There was a more limited selection than the larger selection seen at other Panera Bread locations. We all had excellent meals which I paid for with gift cards. I left a cash tip for the server. We will definitely return to Panera Bread for another great meal. Ken
My wife and I returned again for another delicious meal at this Centennial Hills convenient location. I had my favorite Mediterranean Veggie sandwich, kettle chips and a diet drink. My wife had a turkey sandwich, a bowl of French Onion soup, kettle chips and a diet drink. My wife purchased a loaf of bread and had it sliced to take home. We again used a Panera Bread Gift Card for our meals. The service was excellent and the employees were friendly. This is one of our favorite restaurants that we will frequently visit in the Centennial Hills area near our home. Ken
My wife and I purchased two large french onion soup orders with bread at the drive-thru lane. We both finished dental appointments and wanted something soft to eat since we couldn't bite down on anything hard. The french onion soup is our favorite. I've also purchased the french onion soup at the drive-thru as a treat between meals when we are in the area shopping near Panera Bread. It is always...
Read moreOn February 23, 2025, I visited a Panera Bread location for my first experience and left highly disappointed. The greeting by a lovely employee named Eleanor was pleasant, but that was overshadowed by an uncomfortable atmosphere created by local patrons who stared at my fiancé and me while we dined.
I ordered a chicken sandwich and mac and cheese, but the bowl for my mac and cheese had unsightly brown stains inside. Concerned, I showed it to an employee, who explained the stains were from the oven. It struck me as unacceptable, especially since I noticed other customers received much cleaner bowls. When my fiancé suggested I request a replacement, the staff promptly provided a new serving in a clean bowl. However, I couldn't shake the feeling that I was being judged by another employee who seemingly treated me differently.
By the time I received my fresh mac and cheese, I had lost my appetite after finishing my sandwich. There was no manager available to address my concerns, and my follow-up phone call after leaving went unanswered. I usually try to resolve issues before leaving a review, but the lack of attentiveness and care at this location compelled me to speak out.
I left feeling that this place did not uphold the standards I expected, especially regarding cleanliness and customer service. I chose not to pursue a refund or free snack, as I felt these gestures were not genuine solutions but rather a way to sidestep accountability. I aimed to warn others, mainly tourists, about the contrast in experience outside the vibrant Las Vegas strip, where service tends to be more consistent and respectful.
Overall, I won't be returning to this Panera Bread location, and I plan to escalate my concerns upon my return to New York. I believe it's crucial for patrons to receive equal treatment and for management to take responsibility for the dining experience...
