From out of town but was heading back to town with our bikes. Had only one day in vegas to get a tire on my wife's harley super glide. Went to the motorcycle tire store and was asking Melvin at the store where I could get someone to check my wife's harley super glide and get it dyno'd before heading back to Courtenay on Vancouver Island. He said to give Dyno Tech a call and ask for Steve. Steve answered the phone and I told him the problem. Bike was running terrible. It had a Vance and Hines fuel pack on it but the bike barely ran on a trip down the Baja so I took it off to get back to Vegas. Steve asked me to swing by so he could look at the bike. Got there at 11:00. Told him we were heading home the next day. Any way he could help out? He said he would clear some things out of the way and get the super glide on the dyno at 13:00. So came back and bike was on the dyno by 13:15. Asked where I could walk to and get a beer and a bite. Sitting having a beer and I get a call saying they needed the keys to remove the seat. Damn. Forgot to leave them. Right in the middle of my beer too. 'No problem I'll send someone down to grab your keys'. Wow really? Ok. 5 minutes later and Tara shows up for the keys. So about 30 minutes later get another call. "There's a problem....." hate those words. Steve asked if I could come back to the shop. Sure. So the original plan was not going to work out. He explained in great detail the problems and what my options were. We decided to go with a Power Commander V for the bike. But couldn't get it here in time for today....crap I said. He said hold on. Got his cell out and started calling around. Asked one of his guys to hop on his scoot and go grab the. Commander and the store closed in 30 minutes. So his guy roars off. Got it back, bike dyno'd and on my way by 17:00. Total came to $800 including three t-shirts. The cheapest in town? Not sure, i know the prices at home. And this was very fair. I was around the shop for several hours. It was obvious these guys have a devout following for a good reason! Took the bike out of town to ensure the bike was dialed in. Up into the hills, flat out 100 mph on the highway. Let me be clear - THE BIKE HAS NEVER RAN THIS GREAT. EVER!! Thanks to all your staff. Very friendly, very knowledgeable and FAIR price and DONE RIGHT the first time!! SUPPORT YOUR LOCAL BIKE...
Read moreI brought my bike in and had issues that I could not track down. After doing my own work for over ten years on this bike, I had met my match. Quickly, they diagnosed the problem and gave a quote. I agreed and they fixed the bike only to call me days later and tell me there was another issue. I agreed to the fix and the extra expense. When I picked up my bike, it ran great and seemed perfect. However on my ride home, the ride felt odd. It turned out, the problem they fixed was an issue from some customizing I had done years earlier. Also my left grip had been glued in an uncomfortable orientation for me. It was loss for years and they decided they knew my comfort level. So without telling me, they raised my back back up to it's stock height four inches higher and glued my grip wrong. Why would I pay an extra $150 to have someone undo what I had done and could easily fix myself? And what kind of shop raises someone's motorcycle and doesn't tell them when they ride off on it? When I called, they were defensive and rude. I can't understand how a bike shop doesn't understand how upset someone would be when they raise their bike, glue their grips in the wrong place and fail to mention these things. I won't be taking my Harley there if they can't even fix my Yamaha without understanding an...
Read moreA few months ago I called Main Street Moto DynoTech, introduced myself, told them I was having problems with my custom chopper and needed to have it towed after another shop blew a simple oil change and fuel tank drain. Main Street Moto first got me in touch with an excellent tow company which specializes in bikes. Once there Steve (owner) went over the entire bike with me to determine my needs. After they did an excellent job getting the bike in roll-mode, I decided to trust them with some specific deep mechanical improvements and modifications I wanted done. Long story short, they did everything I wanted and needed. The bike came out super excellent. They went the extra mile to make sure cables, hoses, etc. were not just installed properly but layed up in "factory new" condition. Also, they have a righteous retail section which offers all kinds of helmets, gloves, jackets, gear, and jewelry. For you women riders out there: do not hesitate to bring your bike by MSM. They are a trust-worthy shop with which you can keep your dealership honest with.
Steve, Tara, Raymond, Scotty, and the crew are tip-top. Pay them a visit. Oh yeah, keep an eye out for their Vintage Bike Night. This monthly event is a monster and has seriously kick-ass bikes and...
