Tropical Smoothie Cafe — Restaurant in Las Vegas

I’m not one to write reviews but my experience at this location was unacceptable, disgusting, and dangerous.

I’m allergic to dairy and strictly plant based. I ordered a smoothie and a wrap through the drive through with special instructions to remove the cheese and swap out the chicken with the plant based protein. I will say that the girl taking my order through the window was very nice and made sure that my special instructions were on the ticket and noted. I always appreciate people that take allergies and food restrictions seriously (and just do their job) so I tipped on top of that.

After I got my smoothie and wrap I drove to a nearby parking spot to eat. When I opened up the wrap I nearly threw up. Right where they cut the wrap into two parts was a piece of RAW, uncooked chicken. Clearly, it looked like a pink/red fleshy part mixed with a tendon and fat. How on earth did they miss that!

This is disgusting, un acceptable, and dangerous for ANYONE. Yes I’m plant based, but those who do eat meat wouldn’t eat this or find this acceptable in any way.

I really do hope this wasn’t intentional or some kind of prank by the kid who made my food. Whether it was intentional or an honest mistake, this lack of attention to detail within the food industry can put someone in the hospital. If you can’t pay attention to detail, please go work a job that won’t kill someone or make them sick. It’s crazy, the kid that made my wrap wouldn’t even apologize or look at me when over hearing my conversation with the cashier when I went back inside. No self accountability?

My only positive thing to say is that when I went back inside, the original young lady that took my order was very understanding and apologized about the situation. She gave me a refund and offered to make the wrap herself with me watching. Although I appreciate the offer, I was so sacred and put off to consuming anything from that place. Bottom line is that I shouldn’t have to WATCH someone make my food to feel safe. I declined and just took the refund. I even threw away the smoothie when I left because I wasn’t sure who made it and what they may have put in it.

Ok so I went through the drive threw and placed my order I was the only one in line. Nobody in front or behind me the only one in line! I placed my order and it was repeated back to me correctly I pulled up to the window where I had to wait over 5 min for my order now I drive home promising my kids the pizza from your kids menu and what did I get... Not pizza!!!! My order was wrong!!!

Here is why you get one star from me

After throwing the wrong order away and making my kids dinner at home the way I should have. I placed in a call to this location to talk with the store manager where I was placed on hold and left to wait. Once you returned to the phone I was told that there was no manager on duty. So I explained the situation I have to the girl on the phone and she said that they are very sorry and that if I come back in tomorrow I can pick up the proper order.

Here I am on the way home from school with my kids in the car and waiting in line at your store the next day. I placed the same order and told the lady my name and I was told to pull up to the window. That's when I get this little punk who decides to lean out the window and tell me that the store policy is that I have to bring the food back in if they make it wrong... trust and believe I tried to play it cool AND DROVE HOME

But how about a change of policy!!!!

This place is absolutely despicable. I gave it another shot after them not being open during proper business times. I wait in drive thru for 15 min. Then again another 5 min at the window without even a hey give me a sec or hello. The guy opens the window and no apology or anything just gives me my total. It seemed off and he tried to walk away without offering me my receipt. I had to ask for it. When I did and I was going over it. He upcharged me for a meal and didnt even ask permission or if I wanted the side I was being charged for. And he added on a $2 tip I did not authorize. I caught this after I had driven away so I go back. I had to wait another 20 min. I asked for a refund. The manager in front of me to him asked why. He said he didnt know and she didnt say anything to me. They refunded me but not the tip they fraudulently took. I had to go through again to ask for all the money they took from me. This was plain theft. The kid didnt care nor did the manager. Just giving me attitude as she handed me the tip in cash. I highly recommend not...
