Hooters — Restaurant in Laurel

Very poor service and lackluster food quality at lunch today. I've eaten at Hooters dozens of times over the years -- and at this location several times. Stopped in for lunch today. Very few patrons were there, maybe 4 or 5 tables full. My server, a young lady with straight, dark, long hair (Jozy?), took my order very efficiently. She seemed to have a lot of experience at waiting tables, and she told me she was training another server, who accompanied her to my table. When my server delivered my food, she forgot to bring part of my order -- the blue cheese and celery. No big deal. But I began to feel she really wasn't focused on serving me. Then, after my food came, she totally disappeared. Well, not really -- she spent the next 30 minutes sitting at another customer's table eating her lunch. Several times I looked over to her while she ate, hoping to catch her to talk about the rather poor quality of my food. But she never acknowledged me or came back to check on me or ask about my food. I ate the wings because I was hungry. But half of the wings were missing the sauce. Not sure who the cook was, but he/she did a poor job of coating them. My server did get up from her meal a few times and pass by my table. But she never stopped to check on me. I finished my food and waited and waited for the bill. Still she didn't come to my table. Finally, I was able to flag her down and asked her to bring me the bill. She did. Then she disappeared again back to her table to continue eating. I then grabbed a different server and asked her to take my payment and ring me up. She walked to my server, who then completed my check out. Rarely have I felt this completely ignored by a server. I would also add that someone who appeared to be a floor manager walked by my table a half-dozen times. He never bothered to check on me either -- and the place was not busy at all. I have not been to a Hooters for about 8 years because the quality of the food was never enough to make it worth the trip. I decided that I would give them another chance as I was in the mood for a burger. I figured there's no way they can mess up a burger. I was wrong. They messed up basically three times. I ordered the build your own Burger. I asked for the beef pattty on Texas toast, bacon, pickles and yellow mustard. I explained that I am lactose intolerant and cannot have cheese. The server understood. When my burger came out it had all the ingredients I requested, but it also had a huge pile of grilled onions. I did not order onions because they give me terrible indigestion. I sent the burger back. That was their first mistake. Their second mistake was simply picking the grilled onions off of the burger and sending the same Burger out. It stank of grilled onions, which made me queasy. I sent the burger back again asking for it to be remade to my specifications. When the burger came out the third time it had all of the ingredients requested plus cheese and some kind of really hot sauce. I didn't send it back this time. I cancelled my order. I paid for the salad and drink that I had. I told the manager that they got serious problems and I'm never going to Hooters again. The server was very nice, but inexperienced. Also they did not have one of the beers on the menu that they said was on draft. It took about 15 minutes for them to figure that out. If you are looking for lousy service, this is the place for you. We visited on a Saturday night and expected it to be busy, but we found the place almost empty. Our server was very nice and took our drink order right away. Waters and sodas came out very quick, but my Bud Lite took almost 10 minutes. The head on the beer was almost gone by the time it reached me. We ordered 2 appetizers, 40 wings, and curly fries. The first appetizer arrived in a reasonable amount of time, the 2nd appetizer didn't show up until we asked about it, and even then it didn't show up until our wings arrived. When the wings arrived we asked for plates and when the plates were dropped off they were covered in grease and crumbs. Our waitress apologized and brought out clean plates and said "my manager said the plates should have been clean"...seems like normal service to have clean plates. So now we have plates, both appetizers, but no curly fries. We tell our waitress, just to cancel our order for curley fries and she was shocked they never arrived...but she was the one that took our order and brought the food to the table. The food that did come out was good. The floor near the bathrooms was covered in grease and I slipped and almost fell just walking. 3 issues and the manager never came to our table.
